It looks like the NHS sick rota is still in full swing.
When I joined a large hospital I was told by a supervisor that there is a sick rota, each member of staff pre-books their sick leave and in general it's seen as acceptable to use this to add a couple of weeks or so onto your annual leave.
I was aghast and said it was basically stealing money from your employer via deception, he said "Look son, it's been this way forever, we all take a few extra weeks off and my advice to you is don't rock the boat".
And in other news, councillors are quitting because they're being asked to actually go to work rather than sit at home.
Good old 'Spanish Practices' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_p ... %20unions. When I was working at 'Whizz for Atoms' one of the scientists (Head of Department) said 'I'm off next week, I've got sick leave to use up before year end'.
Doubt is not a pleasant condition.
But certainty is an absurd one.

But that isn't for just a 40 hour week they will tell ya, and rightly so, if your getting that wage i would expect you to work longer than a fucking 40 hour week. They are just greedy c.unts!
I'd rather see all the lower paid doctors, paramedics and nurses get a pay rise who are probably working just as many hours and doing twice as much work!
And to top up the contempt for the tax payers and the patients, those consultants on strike will also be able to, on strike days, carry on working at the private hospitals they moonlight in, unlike the nurse on 60k a year who couldn't do that.
In fact even the nurses haven't enough nurses to vote in favour of striking again. The squeeze to the public purse has to stop, the NHS is in dire need of reform, not more public money for them to waste.

Out of 220 working days 6% is almost 3 weeks each, might help explain why my 95 year old neighbour spent 3 hours lying on the pavement yesterday waiting for an ambulance.
I though councillors weren't paid, then I'd understand them not being happy at being pushed around.

Reminds me of working for the Post Office in the bad old days. I thought those sort of 'Old Spanish Customs' had been stamped out long ago. If not, they should be.

I'm not convinced the NHS is some sort of malingering shirker organisation. I've lived with many doctors and none of them took fake sick time.
And if tooley goons earn £100k a year, £60k for a nurse and £120k for a doctor sound too little. I'd say they should get more.
Take away the sick pay, job security and any other permie perks, stop the government hiring cheap foreign labour, make them compete for contracts and they may get it.
