Road/gravel tyres
Right people, the wife’s taking my Canyon roadlite to come do some very light off road with us. It’s currently got some super sexy fast road tyres on it, 90% of what we will ride will be dirt/gravel paths,
So I need something with a bit of grip and won’t puncture.
It’s 700c and can take a maximum of 32mm
What is there??? Good best gravel tyres and there all 35mm plus.
Thanks

Re: Road/gravel tyres
I'd agree with that. I used to cycle on the gravel Thames path a lot and near slicks never gave me a problem but the one time I tried it on narrow tyres was awful.

Cool, been looking and that’s a shout. Lots of people are saying the Conti GP 4 seasons are better as well.
Did’t think I’d be going the slick route.
Not sure what was going to come up.
But thanks everyone

Re: Road/gravel tyres
The thing is, bicycle tread (short of DH mud tyres maybe) isn’t deep enough to reach the ground so whether or not your tread is griping loose stones is irrelevant.
Whereas higher volume means you can run lower pressure and the tyres can deform to grab some grip instead. Also they’ll deflect less and make the ride feel smoother and safer.

Schwalbe G-One Speed in 30mm. They’re tubeless compatible too. My GF has these on her winter road bike, they still roll really well and grip phenomenally on a range of surfaces, but are workable for light off road too.
