Folk who bugger about with food.

Smoked salmon. I love it. Ever since I went to a smokery thingy in Scotland in late 80s.

We have a fave local place in great location that does amazing salmon baguettes with avocado, cream cheese and salad in granary roll. Yum yum

Today the salmon was bright red and tasted shite.
Apparently they'd decided to marinate it in some strange flavour. Was shite.

Won't be going back there. Muppets.

Couldn't you just explain to them it didn't work for you and you prefer the other?

You know they were only trying to improve it don't you?

Yes I did. That was a bit tongue in cheek. But why change something world famous

But there were other problems as well.
Pen's sarnie was half size of last time and overall good feeling has gone.

Dust.

Been sanding the hallway floor. The entire house looks like a Saharan dust storm has blown through it. Only halfway through it as well.

More sawdust-coloured bogies for us two tomorrow

I did that once. We have an open fireplace which draws so much air in, so I had to use plastic drop sheet and seal off the front room, in fact every door to stop the air from flowing and carrying dust everywhere.

We have the Saharan dust blowing here constantly. Only 90 miles away.
Cleaned the pool today. 3 hours later the floor is covered in dust.

But I suppose there's worse problems :)

Serious answer. Attach the Hoover to the sander.

I re-rendered the front of the house (entirely by hand, I am an 'artisan' you know, might explain how fucked my elbows are). It involved chiseling century old 'render', mainly red mud, which covered everything in the street with a fine red dust for literally months.

My neighbours should have hated me, but instead frequently drove past doing encouraging arm movements.

Using a hired floor sander as the area is c. 50 sq meters. Mrs G is using that, with the dust bag attached. We nned the sawdust to be mixed with liquid filler and spread all over to cover joints once we're down to 120 grit, then sanded all over again.
I'm using a 150mm random orbital on the edges with a decent dust fliter. Knees fucked.

Door gaps masked over, but it still gets everywhere. I reckon we'll be cleaning for weeks to come.

Still, sanding should be done by end of today, then it's clean, prime and two or three coats of lacquer.

Been in the house for 15 years and this is the first time we've done the floor. And it will be the bloody last.

Buy some gel knee pads, they're ace.

[First knee pads I bought had a rigid plastic outer. After seeing how scratched they were, you realise how much grief knees get]

I assume that's recommended practice but I'm intrigued as to how that lasts over the coming years. I suppose it depends on the age, condition and type of floor? If it's a pretty rigid tongue and groove and the joint gaps aren't too big.... (Just thinking 'out loud' if it would would work on a particular floor that needs doing in a friend's place - I volunteered to help. Doh.)
Doubt is not a pleasant condition.

I have some very good De Walt ones. But when working in the garage, I have kneel mats made up of double thickness yoga mats. 1 big mat made 2 kneel mats. They work well :)

Found them!

Hanging in a carrier bag on a hook behind the workbench, hidden under an old towel.

I knew I'd put them somewhere safe.

Anyway...off to create a shit load of sawdust....

Ultra fat-reduced dairy products. They taste of absolutely nothing at all. Mrs Mango and I popped into a local cafe for a spot of late lunch and the only mayonnaise they had to put on our chips was 'lighter than light' mayo. It had the consistency of shaving cream and tasted of absolutely nothing.

Vile muck.

Bit of a tangent here, but it always strikes me as weird that eggs get filed under dairy :D. I'm sure I do it too, but makes no sense!

Lee Mack. Trying to watch that 100% club earlier and it's hard to work out the answers with his inane chittering in the background. He should just STfU as he's as funny as piles.

How can it be both vile and taste of nothing?

Celery? Crunchy (so I'm advised) or chewy stringy water
