Decided the Buell pegs probably won't lower the pegs enough to make a difference and I'd have to file them down to get them to fit. So I decided I'd try a set of 40mm lowering ones. The gear lever can adjust enough to suit this but not sure the rear brake pedal can be lowered by that much? I'll see how it all works out when they get here...

Do you use the rear brake ? Apart from sitting in a queue waiting to go out on track, i don't think i've ever used it.

Yes, probably as much as the fronts!! I trail brake a lot and drag with it when slow speed, feet up manoeuvring..

I use the back brake a lot, I never used to use it on race replicas, but on the GSX I brake with both front and back, it stops better using both.

My GS has linked brakes so no need to used the back in normal use.

My Bullet you have to use both if you ever want to stop.

On the GSRX11 its only used for skids.

I promised myself I wouldnt spend any money on this in case I shifted it on, but I feel I need to take a shot at making it better before deciding its future. So, the custom mirrors  absolutely suck as do the horrible after market stubby levers. Hopefully, I've bagged some OEM ones to replace them with and should reclim the purchase price, or some of it, when I sell the custom crapon.

A strange thing about this bike is the dash is very hard to see! I always seem to be staring at reflective light and cant see the actual displays?? Cant recall having that problem before? Maybe a screen would help?

I've seen reviews on bikes where one of the criticism's is screen glare,so it is a known problem.Have a search for screen protector film or anti glare film.

Ordered an ipad one from Temu for £3.48! Will cut that to size and see if it works or even helps.

Perhaps a bit of a drastic solution to the clocks visibility issue, but you could out the current CB1000, buy the one below ( currently for sale on PB Forum - looks roomy, has old school clocks, a naughty pipe and is very you I reckon ;) ) and an SH300 too without having to spend any more, and have a choice each morning :D
Chemist on PB Forum wrote:Rare bike, not often seen.

CB1300 forks, Renthal bars
VTR wheels to wear proper sized tyres
Nissin 4 pot brakes, braided lines
Ported head, adjustable cam sprockets
Two Brothers full race exhaust

This is a really well put together bike, looks great, has got all the parts to make it handle and it's very fast and torquey.

Clocks have been changed due to a low speed crash.

Have spare carbs, engine gasket set, new braided lines, original clocks and lots more.

Thanks anyway, but I'd never buy a bike whose seat unit and tank are of equal size! :wtf: ;) :D

I struggled riding it today, really struggled as my leg tendons have had enough and the lowered footpegs cant get here soon enough! I'd kinda written it off as soon as I got it tbh, but it is slowly winning me over! I'll lower the pegs, change the crap mirrors and levers and then see where I am with it.

The Duc is slowly becoming a memory. Where the Honda wins is, I can't believe I can be sitting at 70, roll the throttle off as I approach the 50mph average speed area, sit at 50 then back up to 70 without changing gear! Been a while since I've had this kind of fuelling and I like it!

Good init. I think that's what people overlook or mistake as lack of character. They are not only so, so easy to ride, but also incredibly good at the same time. On mine on a twisty road I can leave it in 2nd/3rd and go nuts or leave it in 6th and mooch or anything in between. Yeah the 690 was rewarding as like a 2 stroke almost you needed to be in the right gear/revs but GSXS has more options when you wanna chill.

OEM mirrors on R&G extensions bought for £30 delivered. OEM levers bought for £20 delivered. Result! Lowering pegs on their way but I suspect on a slow boat from bat eating land! :hmmm:

It’s really soft so I can’t see how it can do anything but will fit it for a laugh and see if it does!
