No idea! They didn't have them available to innocent young ladies back then - or I was too innocent to know about them    :angelic-green: :angelic-green: :angelic-green:

A versys 1000 is a big comfy bike with loads of leg room and a super smooth big IL4, looks aside a great bike

I spotted a bike on t'bay that I'd completely forgot existed, that might have fit the bill.

The Yamaha FZ8.

Looked at them a few months ago. I don't mind them actually.

I can only see that being less of a bike? I doubt the riding position/peg height is any different and I get a less powerful bike?

No real update on the bike tbh. I'm definitely enjoying it, but miss the Ducati in many (non-fuelling) ways. I'm getting used to the Honda for sure and even gelling with it in some ways, but I don't think it's a keeper? I'm not looking at anything else at the moment, mainly because I just don't know what I want and that would suit my needs?

Oh yeah, the Honda is a better bike, but you probably get a bit newer/less miles FZ8 for the same money.

The Honda will be more fasterer, which is importanter.

The anniversary FZ8 looks nice, I know someone with an FZ1 and he loves it, I don't think I've ever seen an FZ8 in real life

I'd hazard a guess that the pegs would be a lot lower than the CB1000 if the CB is anything like the GSXS. On mine the pegs are pretty sports bike like, whereas my Dad's FZ6 is a comfy armchair bike.

However you'll lose a lot of power/torque and handling I'd guess. Having said that if it's like the Z750 then it won't be as debagged as a 600. But yeah it's a lesser bike to an extent.

There's an FZ1 as well with more go.

You don't get more legroom without getting a physically bigger bike. You don't appear ready for a Goldwing or FJR1300, which points squarely at an adventure bike. You've found or rediscovered Japanese big IL4 smoothness and you like it. That pretty much only leaves that big versys standing on the Guess Who board.

If better means... more power, more toys, more expensive (to buy, insure and fuel), more vibey (don't they have a bad rep for sending hands to sleep?) and more BMW build quality (I'll let you decided if thats a good or bad thing).

I don't want to own that Yamaha though. It just does nothing for me. I'm sure its a brilliant bike, but I need some visuals as well. I'm not actually sure I want to get rid of the CB1000R either, I just miss the Ducati and I think that's clouding my enjoyment of the Honda. That said its not very comfortable, but I think I'm getting more and more used to it...

BMWs and KTMs are off the list anyway. Been there, broke that! :? The Honda is buzzy and will numb your hands quite bad if you don't ride around the rev area t does it in. Apparently fecking heavy bar weights help? Bizarrely the Ducati never gave me numb fingers, mind you nor did the Harley? There really isn't anything out there that lights me up tbh...

There's one bike you mention more than all the others.

You need another Harley.

I know they're not 'proper' Harleys, but what are the XG's like?

I did look at them, well Sportsers as I'm not sure what a XG is, when Doccas hunt for one was on, but I realised, I'm just walking old paths. I think i'd be more likely to get a Guzzi than another Harley?

XG750's are Streetrods. Baby Harleys for poor people and/or learners...

Shame the the UK Muscle bike market died, I reckon a CB1300 (or an ZRX1200) would fit the bill, but they're all getting on a bit now.

Unless you import a brand new CB1300 from Japan where it's still a current model.

Or maybe if you like 'retro' a CB1100RS/EX?
