We told you about the throttle response and power, inline 4s are superb.

On the buzziness, it looks like it might have after market bar end weights, if it has try the originals, also check the chain isn't tight.

And I still think it looks lovely

Its torquey, surprisingly so, and it just keep building power until you feel like you're riding an Exocet missle. Respect to you guys who have the cahoonas to thrash a litre bikes about. I certainly don't need that much power but the way it makes it along with the way it steers, makes this a hell of a bike.
Sounds similar to the GSXS. That is batshit mental at the top with near 150bhp but it's not that type of bike in a way and the engine is happy and suits midrange surfing a lot of the time. The handling is what made it stand out to me as well as I found it much more 'complete' and together than the MT09 I rode. It's like a good sportsbike all feel and secure.

Mine buzzes a bit but not much. I've had the odd ride where I've noticed it but others where I've felt nothing at all. Like last Sundays 150 miles, no vibes at all.

Sounds like you like an IL4 but not high pegs. Should be options.

On my way through town and noticed the ache in my knee is creeping back ina nd its dawned on me, its not the angle my leg is at, its the pivoting of my foot when the leg is bent that causes the problem. I'm going to get cycling again which I think will help or even cure that? Even pain free, I'm not sure its a riding position I like though? Maybe I'd get used to it?
Hey, at least it's got you thinking about rehab stuff again! :1 :1 :1

Shame the MT10 isn't an IL4 :( :( :(

I thought it was a 4 that fired differently so not an in line 4?? TBF, I don't know much about engines, so am probably wrong. But I was dreaming of a smooth IL4 and people kept telling me the MT10 isn't??

It's an IL4 with a 'cross plane crank' but yeah it's still an IL4

Just out of interest like. Is the seat on the Honda adjustable? It looks v low in your pix. I assume, if it is, you adjusted it uppards? It just looks more cramped than in other photos of that model bike.

I enjoyed this thread so much, I went back and read the previous one which I'd somehow missed completely.

Top bombing, TiePin!

Fwiw both my 2004 fz6s and 2010 g650gs have very smooth fuelling, at least to my sensitivity level. Albeit the BMW sounds like a bag of spanners and the throttle cables are a little heavy on the Yamaha.

What about a versys 1000 for your next trick? Big bike with big riding position, and a 1000/4 engine. No idea if it's any good beyond that it matches the brief.

If the pegs feel high with big knee bend, it ain't gonna work. Get yourself to superbike factory and sit on a load. Then up to Wigan for a brand new Yamaha. 😁👍

Excellent point. It may have a low seat on it? The seat is two separate seats, so should be fairly simple to get it customised into a higher one using the original seat pan and I expect they are cheap and plentiful 2nd hand?

I think I’ve got quite a few comfort mods I can make to this first. But I’ve never considered a versus before. Don’t know anything about them tbh, but they’re on my radar now.

I know there's no pillion seat but the rider's seat looks much more normal on the pic that Yoz posted. Dunno. It might just be picture angles etc.
