Have fun.
That photo of them at 'gatherings', they're at work, who calls being at work a 'party'. Even the surprise birthday cake, it was a surprise, suggests he didn't know about it happening until he realised it was there.

Your experience of being an arse is as clear as day in this thread, Ant.

You'll need to put my comment into context though and that's not your strong point, is it.

I know this will come as a shock to you, but the privileges committee were less concerned about whether Johnson ate cake, but were instead concerned whether he misled (i.e. lied to) Parliament. Eating cake does not carry a penalty, a Prime Minister lying to Parliament most certainly does.

Hope this helps.
Wasting your time Mango, 'es got cake on the brain. He even thinks Johnson delivered the party an 80 seat majority in 2019. Any fule kno it was the 2015 Labour leadership election what won it for them.

I haven't replied to your comment which was in reply to Lutin.

I've made a general comment relating to your posting style and your failure to put things into context with regards to Boris Johnson ignoring (and allowing others to ignore) rules that his government had made. And then lying about it.

What you are doing is called defending the indefensible. It makes you look a fool. HTH

I'd not seen that before, interesting graph.

The Daily Mail is awful innit? I guessed they'd score badly, but they score really badly :D Seems we should be getting our news from The Smithsonian Magazine, but I imagine they cover quite a narrow range of topics.
The Daily Wail has a new columnist too. I don't think he's going to do their position on that chart much good.

Funny, I looked at the chart and wondered which blob was the Fail. Hmm, must be a red one down here-ish. Dab. Bingo! First time. :banana-dance:

Boris is a buffoon. He has also now been shown to be a lying buffoon. No problem with that, but the first rule of political buffoonery is Do Not Lie To Parliament.

Yes you did, look above.

No, what I am doing is having my own opinion. You're allowed yours, I'm allowed mine. Stop your constant whining, you're not as important as you think you are.

And he's broken the rules again - Boris Johnson breaks ministerial code with new Daily Mail job
Boris Johnson has committed a "clear breach" of the ministerial code by not clearing a new role writing a column for the Daily Mail with the parliamentary authorities.

The committee that vets ex-ministers' appointments says he informed them only half an hour before the news emerge.

Mr Johnson resigned as an MP on Monday, but is still required to seek advice from the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments (Acoba) on new jobs for two years after leaving ministerial office.

In a statement, Acoba said: "The ministerial code states that ministers must ensure that no new appointments are announced, or taken up, before the committee has been able to provide its advice.

"An application received 30 mins before an appointment is announced is a clear breach.

"We have written to Mr Johnson for an explanation and will publish correspondence in due course, in line with our policy of transparency."

Clearly, the rules don't apply to him.

If I liked people just because they make money for themselves I'd start a Crispin Odey Fan Club.

There are quite a few people who haven't made £4 million in six months that I dislike a fair bit too. OTOH I know some nice, honest people who are utterly loaded.

No it's not just because they make money. The witch hunt is about how popular he is with the voters, 80 seat majority, being filthy rich is just a bonus. I bet he's sitting in the garden right now of his £3m house, not really giving much thought right now to what people think.

He is not that minted. He has a lot more money than most, but he spends like a bloody billionaire. And he is not.

He would probably have got away with it if it wasn't for covid. He could have run with the ruddy faced feel good patriotism of Brexit for a few years and maybe even waffled through the fuel crisis. But covid was a perfect and clear example of how the world is made different for those at the top.

But yeah no need to feel sorry for him, he has plenty of money and at least a lifetime's worth of cash paying after dinner speech buffoon anecdotes to milk.
Much more amusing the diminishing band of fools still fighting his corner, for free.

I sometimes forget which forum I'm on. Over on Garage Journal Forum, any slight or issue with a co worker, tradesman or neighbor, settling a dispute etc is meet with the standard response of "Bang his wife"... I may have posted that on here...

Interesting take on the subject:

Personally I am a fan of Boris and I think this "party gate" bollocks was just that: an excuse to get rid of a very popular figure.

To what end I wonder? To try and install that WEF puppet Sunak? To continue the move back into the EU and reverse Brexit? Who is driving this process?

This is how I feel about Johnson -

Image

He's been sacked (left before being sacked) from pretty much every job he's had. WTF thought a proven liar who takes no responsibility for anything would be a good person to be mayor, let alone PM ???
