Noggin wrote: Sat Jun 10, 2023 10:10 am From today I no longer need to have the dressing on my leg. The scar is still a bit weird as it looks like the inside stitches haven't disovled yet, but it'll be nice not to have to deal with the dressing :D

Now I just have to work out how to get the sticky residue from the plasters off!! :lol
Tidier than mine! 😁
Nope the first op looked very similar!!! And the staples make me feel yucky even on someone else!! :o Thought it was just on me!!

The 'new' scar is on the old one, but is about 2 - 2.5cms shorter each end :D So should look much better by the finish as the last one was not a good scar! LOL

Helped the Gremlinette as she'd dropped a bollock and not selected her uni by the deadline. Quick call to UKAS and it was all sorted.

Then it sort really hit home. She's gonna be gone for three or four years, all the way up north in Manchester. My little baby girl.

I ain't half gonna miss her.

1,200m today. Yee hah.

Used a snorkel which made it so much easier.
Cut resting periods by 50% as wasn't gasping for air.
Made my arms ache a bit as they weren't getting as much rest :D
First few lengths were tough today.
But about 600m in, it got easier.
Previously, after first energetic 400m, I'd do a pair of 25m lengths then a slight pause.
Today I was doing 2 pairs at a time so could see total distance going up quickly 🙃

Got to my day's target of 1400m but felt that as I was so close to my ultimate goal, I'd carry on.

Woo hoo last 2 pairs were going well and planned to sprint the extra 9 meters.
But at 1600m I was done. The extra 9 meters was a gentle affair :D

But reet fucking chuffed to manage a mile quite easily.

I giggled all the way home, especially as I was on the GSXR in shorts n flip flops :obscene-birdiedoublered:
Did mile again. Had thought about upping it a bit more, but first few lengths were hard and 1800m seemed daunting.
Planned a mile again and pressure off.
Once I hit 1200m I smiled as though it was all downhill from here.
Last 100m was fastest of all as had a bit of fun. Glad I had a bit extra left.

Now gonna try to drop overall time with shorter rest times.
I think my first mile was about 1h 10 mins.
Done a few now and today's was 55 mins.

Duc is due its belt service and the rear tyre is probably illegal now. So I booked it In To get it all done a few weeks back. It wouldn’t sell without it being done unless I knocked it out cheap which I don’t want to do.

Walked into Maldon whilst the bike is being done. App says it was 3 miles overall. Felt a lot more in this heat! Guzzling bottle water in Morrisons air cooled cafe now!

A Ducati showroom is a very nice place to be! The V4 streetfighter is lovely looking IRL and better than it looks in the pictures. The newer model Monsters are really nice too. Nearest to bland looking was the scrambler thing but even then not bad. Diavel surprised me. I always thought they were massive, but not massive at all and didn't look any more overweight than the V4 streetfighter or the fecking huge multistrada! Desert X looked purposeful. All in all, a very impressive showroom!

I'm getting good now ;)
I was doing 2 pairs (2x25) quite easily so tried 4 pairs. I realises I perhaps wasn't breathing deep enough, potentially leaving dirty air in snorkel as well.
So big big breaths and 4 pairs (200m) has become easy.
When I started I looked at 32 sessions. Now it's only 8.
Less daunting. Fewer rest stops.

Time dropped to 50.5 minutes.

Average speed up from 0.86 MPH to 1.19 MPH

Was woken up far to early by dog wishing to be outside. Coffee, doing some work on final assignment of BA Theology. Then wife to work, did some shopping, joined prayers and then did some work. Had a nap this afternoon, feel a bit better now. Going to take said hound for a short walk in closed off church garden (she is in season). Then collect wife from work. She has forest school today and her helper sacked off (probably saw the coming temps and chickened out) so she will be tired. Not too much to do this evening, so a G&T will be welcome.

Have a few weeks off work. So far I've been sugar soaping walls today, then tidying any areas up which need wall filler and a rub down. Hot sweaty work today. Just mixed up some wood filler to fill some holes in a window cill I've just stripped and sanded down, will rub that filler down and get two coats of primer on pronto.

Drove for over 4 hours to deliver a 'friends' bike to her new place. Not paid, barely thanked and then the karma train had some old bint open her car door onto mine and dent it :angry-cussingblack:

Went to the valley to see a mate. On the way, I went to the hospital to see if I can get an ultrasound (endocrinologist wants a scan of the thyroid) - shock horror, have an appointment tomorrow!!! :o :o Awesome the difference in the inter-season

Met my friend to find out she's been working with concussion for a few day  !! Downside of being self employed :( but at least she's starting to feel better now :)

Found out that i've received some sick pay, so that helps! Have to go argue with the unemployment office next week :? :?
