That second to last photo - I thought it was 2 bikes joined into a weird hybrid due to the angle of that sofa in teh background

Ride it? Don't be daft, you put it in your office as an objet d'art.

I should probably pop down there for a looksee but I fear I already know what I will find.
Can't do any harm I suppose and it might motivate me to do something better with all those bikes rotting in the garage.

Re: LONDON CALLING: 40 IMAGES FROM THE BIKE SHED SHOW
I never know how I feel about that whole 'culture' - on one hand it's great that bikes almost get a new lease of life and it's all great, progressing forward and all that.
On the other hand - It just all seems a bit forced, dress up for middle managers who think Sterephonics and Foo Fighters are "real rock music" and like to wax lyrical about beard oil and IPA's.
I have only ever seen one "custom" cafe/scrambler/brat bike out on the road, what appeared to be an R80 with the obligatory frame gap and brown seat.....looked uncomfortable
But, each to their own

They're no worse that the faux hippies at Glastonbury or patch club bikers, it's all adults playing cosplay and pretending it's a lifestyle.darthpunk wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 2:27 pm I never know how I feel about that whole 'culture' - on one hand it's great that bikes almost get a new lease of life and it's all great, progressing forward and all that.

Re: LONDON CALLING: 40 IMAGES FROM THE BIKE SHED SHOW
There's some show bikes at the show naturally, custom shop stuff, and not surprisingly they're after your business and not presenting bikes on old rubber. But primarily they are bikes made and ridden by blokes in sheds.
I went to the show regularly, until recently, it's a great day out. I stopped posting about it on here because of the negativity.

I'd go to it if it wasn't in Shoreditch, but I have no desire to visit London

Re: LONDON CALLING: 40 IMAGES FROM THE BIKE SHED SHOW
Foo Fighters started as one guy (albeit a guy already in an internationally mega-famous band ) making tapes in his garage. He played all the instruments on his first album and every album they've done is original music, played themselves, with no associated TV talent show. They've even record some of their albums on old reel-to-reel tape in a garage "just because" How is that not a real rock band?
I really like some of these bikes BTW but they'd be a twat to actually own. But conceptually how is it different to people fittings exhausts, sticky tyres and fancy suspension to just tootle around the middle of a novice group on a track day?

I'll be honest, i'm still pissed at them because their Milton Keynes show a few years back was bollocks and I went off them. Still think their first two albums were pretty good thoughFoo Fighters started as one guy (albeit a guy already in an internationally mega-famous band ) making tapes in his garage. Haha....I was at that show, the one where Dave Grohl was on a throne with a broken leg? I thought it was good, the one they did at the bowl a few years before that was brilliant.
