A decade behind schedule I've started on Game of Thrones. Already seen a few bits and bobs not watched it properly.
Bit graphic, innit?

I watched and thoroughly enjoyed 7 seasons but I've never watched the 8th and last .
I might just watch the whole lot again and the 8th, just to see who dies.

Ironically I've seen most of the 8th season, including the bits you can't see in Winterfell

the Days, Netflix , drama based on Fukushima tsunami/nuclear disaster, only watched episode one (of 8) but as a Control Room operator its right up my street for how it can all go wrong when your sitting in the chair.

Did they see any graphite on the ground outside?
They can't have, because it's not there.

I have a bag of graphite powder* in my fibreglassing store.
If I go to Japan I might just take a small bag of it and scatter it in odd places just to get them thinking . . .
*Yes, I know it's an odd thing to have a supply of but if you mix it with epoxy it makes a great coating for the bottom of a kayak especially if your local beach is stony.

Videos on YouTube of mixing it (from pencils) with superglue to make 'filler'.
Similar process / effect?
eg:
Even bland can be a type of character

Yeah, sort of. I mix up the 2 part epoxy as normal then add the graphite powder and continue stirring. I don't think I've got the data from my test pieces any more when I was finding the best ration of epoxy to powder so this winter when I'll be recoating the kayak hull I'll have to do some more test pieces. Deep joy.
I use lots of different 'fillers' with epoxy, depending on the job, silica, micro balloons, silica/micro balloon mix (the silicar makes it smoother), sawdust, fibreglass powder. It's a pretty versatile substance, epoxy resin, basically a coating but with the right filler in the right ratio it's a fantastic glue - but not for plastics.

Chernobyl had graphite get out, there is a chilling Horizon documentary with people walking round the town with flashes on the film from radiation and commentary regarding people identifying core graphite after they’ve knelt down to look at itMr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 10:06 pm Did they see any graphite on the ground outside?

Re graphite in epoxy...very common thing to do in Composites. All kinds of stuff gets added into epoxy resin when used in carbon fibre, including graphite.
Airbus A350 (and presumably other aircraft, but I didn't work on those ) has glass fibre fuel pipes with just enough carbon black added to make the epoxy the right electrical conductivity.

Not seen it yet, not sure when it's released*, but there's a new Babylon 5 film due. Woot!
They've got around the ageing cast problem by doing it as an animation voiced by many of the original cast.
Looks a bit timey-wimey/multi-universe etc.
* Edit: 15th August

Captain Phillips. Already seen it but my daughter chose it for all to watch. I'd forgotten what a great film it was and was surprised to find out the truth behind it!

Avatar The Way of Water.
It's the 2nd Avatar film, now on Disney+
The plot is pretty basic, there's no twist, you've seen the same thing dozens of times....
but oh my god is it a beautiful feast for the eyes.
I liked the Aussie sea captain he was the most 'characterful' character in it... shame his arm fell off.

I saw it in the Cinema in some kind of mega wide format...can't remember what it was called, it had screens on the left and right walls of the Cinema too.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Sun Jun 25, 2023 7:31 pm Avatar The Way of Water.

Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates
On Disney+
It has it's moments, but overall average at best.
I've decided that Aubrey Plaza is the future Mrs KFB. I just need to get rid of the current one and become very attractive to women.

Reet fancy chef comes back to Chicago to take over his dead brother's sandwich shop/restaurant. Failing business etc.
Its hard to say what it is really....it's certainly got a lot of shouting I quite like it but I'm not sure I can tell you why.
