New commuter musings (wet weather bike)
Now that FAZ600 is in the garage, the donkey is surplus to requirements. It just doesn't make sense to have a bike with 200€ a year road tax and 300-odd insurance as a wet weather bike. Instead, a 250cc bike has 25€ a year tax and negligible insurance.
What say you lot to these pups?
Cbf250 for €1,200 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 7524971572
Sure to be a pup, the number plate hanger and exhaust have been hacked about and the rim tape is wank. But it's cheap and it has a rack.
Ybr250 for €1,800 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 1532580619
Low mileage, decent condition. And it comes with a rack. It's obviously been sprayed, so I asked the owner why, he said "because it looked like this"

Do you need a wet weather bike?
Spend the cash on drugs and hookers instead.

How about the oddball, an Inazuma 250? Even as the owner of a G650GS I can say it's a face only a mother could love, but it has one cylinder more than everything else here, and more is betterer. Right?-

The fz has made it through 20 years without seeing rain, and yes I honestly believe that. Seems a shame to baptise it now, when the cost of owning a 250 is ✓FA.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 10:11 pm Do you need a wet weather bike?

I like them. Ok, not the painted one. But I'm with KFB, do you really need a wet weather bike. That said, if you want it, you don't need to justify it to anyone and get one bought.

Just wondering why you need a wet weather bike in a land of mostly sunshine......road salt avoidance i can understand as i use a Fazer 600 for winter and the Ducati rarely comes out in the winter
But as a rule we all need another bike

Can't believe you lot are questioning the need for another bike!!!!
Have you all forgotten the N+1 formula
Anyway - I liked the first post cos of the reason for the second one being resprayed
I'd probably go for the 'Onda. But I have always been a bit of an Onda fan-girl
Happy new bike searching. Always remember N+1 - if you need a reason, it doesn't have to make sense to anyone else

I know a man who has the little Homda as a second bike. He seems very impressed with it. He had to put in a new clutch, but it was very cheap to buy/insure/run.
