New commuter musings (wet weather bike)

Post by A_morti »

Now that FAZ600 is in the garage, the donkey is surplus to requirements. It just doesn't make sense to have a bike with 200€ a year road tax and 300-odd insurance as a wet weather bike. Instead, a 250cc bike has 25€ a year tax and negligible insurance.

What say you lot to these pups?

Sure to be a pup, the number plate hanger and exhaust have been hacked about and the rim tape is wank. But it's cheap and it has a rack.

Low mileage, decent condition. And it comes with a rack. It's obviously been sprayed, so I asked the owner why, he said "because it looked like this" :banana-dance:

Do you need a wet weather bike?

Spend the cash on drugs and hookers instead.

Even as the owner of a G650GS I can say it's a face only a mother could love, but it has one cylinder more than everything else here, and more is betterer. Right?

The fz has made it through 20 years without seeing rain, and yes I honestly believe that. Seems a shame to baptise it now, when the cost of owning a 250 is ✓FA.

I like them. Ok, not the painted one. But I'm with KFB, do you really need a wet weather bike. That said, if you want it, you don't need to justify it to anyone and get one bought.

Just wondering why you need a wet weather bike in a land of mostly sunshine......road salt avoidance i can understand as i use a Fazer 600 for winter and the Ducati rarely comes out in the winter

But as a rule we all need another bike ;)

Can't believe you lot are questioning the need for another bike!!!! :o

Have you all forgotten the N+1 formula

Anyway - I liked the first post cos of the reason for the second one being resprayed

I'd probably go for the 'Onda. But I have always been a bit of an Onda fan-girl :D :D :D

Happy new bike searching. Always remember N+1 - if you need a reason, it doesn't have to make sense to anyone else

I know a man who has the little Homda as a second bike. He seems very impressed with it. He had to put in a new clutch, but it was very cheap to buy/insure/run.
