Just had a look at them and I have to say, visually, it doesn't do it for me, but they are on my radar now. I'll look at some yt reviews.weeksy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 10:08 amAsk @Couchy i'm sure he'll put up his video of it at Rockingham too... but they're proper proper things that's for sure... As much as i think BMWs should be big arse twins.... the S1000 is a gem of an engine.

If you put some foam on the seat and used handlebar riders the Honda could be made to have the same riding position as the Ducati

Re: New bike time!!!!
If you’re gonna spend the full £10k, then having had one, the only bike I would really consider properly for commuting would be an 13-18 model R1200GS… It’s absolutely everything you’d want from a decent commuter, lots of torque, shaft drive, super comfy, can carry lots of luggage, lots of mod cons (heated grips, adjustable suspension etc.) and they fuel incredibly well too and the weight being so low down makes them incredibly easy to handle at low speed. Brilliant riding position for riding in traffic too.
Sold mine because for spirited weekend riding it was pretty dull compared to the KTM 1290SAS that replaced it, but if it was just for commuting, the GS would win hands down…
That or a maxi scooter… If you’re not riding for fun at the weekends too, little point in compromising the main point of the bike which is getting you to work reliably, cheaply and comfortably to have something that might be a tiny bit more fun for the 0.1% of riding that you do. Which is precisely why don’t really own a sensible bike, as 100% of my riding is purely weekend fun!
