He needs a greater than 10 mile range though...

Re: New bike time!!!!
Honda CB500F, and a Givi topbox
or, if you want to splash the cash, Honda 750 Hornet with the same topbox.
The former can be done under £5k with a nearly new 500, the Hornet is probably £7.5k but it is order new one now and wait until September.
Both small and light (under 200kg), 500 is nippy even with 47bhp, but the 750 has almost twice the power.

Not a bad idea tbh - it'd do away with the injection issues....MrLongbeard wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 3:22 pmMeh, he'd be the coolest cat on the forecourt.

If TiePin has a go on a proper electric bike he'll never again be happy with the fuelling on an ICE bikeRockburner wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 4:06 pm Not a bad idea tbh - it'd do away with the injection issues....

Re: New bike time!!!!
I have thought about a Zero and I think the model McSatan has would reliably have the range i need each day, and I have always wanted a leccy bike, but, well, y'know, exhaust noise! Plus the price. It'd kill me to see that much money covered in crap and devaluing quicker than it should and i'm not sure on cycle parts, battery life etc. Just don't think the time is right for me to have a leccy bike or car just now.

Re: New bike time!!!!
Wonder what the peg-to-seat distance is? Funny really as I've always liked these but been put off because they were IL4s! I think I prefer the earlier ones to the later ones?

Re: New bike time!!!!
They're really nice things. I've only sat on them a few times, not ridden one as yet - and only the current ones. They feel tiny! Not in a bad way. I've avoided having a go on one because I think I'd probably really like it and go and buy one.

Re: New bike time!!!!
I think the seat to peg distance would be too tight for me anyway. Maybe an Africa Twin DCT?

Re: New bike time!!!!
Big IL4 with the ability to carry stuff
I worried about the knee position as its much higher than the 690, but my bad knee has been fine. Little iffy for 10 mins when I haven't ridden it in a while but then it's fine. Not sure how much worse your knee is than mine. Welcome to try mine if you want. Come over Manningtree way Saturday LGF might come out too.

Doesn't the pole with a plane on it get in the way a bit when riding?

Re: New bike time!!!!
That's a good suggestion - maybe the Katana as well. The low-down fuelling compensator / rev assist thing is a winner too.Supermofo wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 7:12 pm Big IL4 with the ability to carry stuff
