New bike time!!!!

Post by Taipan »

Well not exactly now, as I still love the Ducati, but out of interest and to keep the site's content flowing, what bike would you recommend for me? The brief is as follows;

I only commute on it and don't ride for pleasure.
No big heavy bikes or sportsbikes.
Something that fuels better than a Ducati.

Ducati will probably bring in about £8.5k but i could push it to £10k. Equally, and this is something i'm really thinking about, I could cut it to £5k. Reason being I hate cleaning bikes and only service them, so they tend to suffer as I ride all year round and it grates a bit seeing decent bikes rot away.

Scooter if just commuting. And I'd go for a cheaper 300cc.

Any thing with an upright riding position and a large inline 4 engine, any of them will fuel better than your Ducrappy

I do need to carry stuff to and from work each week and carrying stuff in back pack does get old and a scoot is perfect for this. Before I've had a scooter as the main commuter, then when bored I've bought something for a bit of fun for a while. I suppose I could go back to this approach?

Ducrappy!! :lol:

I've not owned many IL4s in recent years. I hate smaller capacity ones with a vengeance. But a large capacity il4 may be suitable? I like the idea of these detuned, but more grunty ones.

knee bend would cripple him on all of those.

Book a test ride, what have you got to lose, you'll either love it or hate it, and you'll know pretty quick which one it is.

If that's the one i test rode, it was superb... absolutely superb. However, it wasn't necessarily wonky knee friendly.
