Kawasaki Screamers...
Are Kawasaki single-handedly keeping the four cylinder sportsbike market alive?
We (in the UK) might not get the 250/4 or the 400/4, but they're re-introducing the 600(636)/4!
Who said Super Sport 600's were dead?

That's interesting... it must be Euro5 compliant.

Re: Kawasaki Screamers...
To bring the model back, Kawasaki have put the Ninja’s 636cc, liquid-cooled engine through Euro5 homologation, something that did not happen for the Yamaha R6 nor the Honda CBR600RR. Despite making it through the stricter emissions regulations, Kawasaki still claim the ZX-6R will make just shy of 130bhp.

Apparently yes, the local Kawasaki dealer is accepting deposits for them.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Jun 06, 2023 10:04 pmThey're only showing the 400 twin on the webshite, are we getting the 4 pot in the uk?Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Tue Jun 06, 2023 10:02 pm My mate has put a deposit down on a 400, possibly be in the UK in October

Re: Kawasaki Screamers...
Yup...perhaps they realised there was still a large demand for them after losing lots of sales to Triumph who kept the 675 and 765 going putting out lots of BHP rather than the 650 Ninja and the Yamaha R7 which had shopping bike engines in a posh frock.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Jun 06, 2023 10:04 pmThey're only showing the 400 twin on the webshite, are we getting the 4 pot in the uk?Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Tue Jun 06, 2023 10:02 pm My mate has put a deposit down on a 400, possibly be in the UK in October
When my boy was bike shopping he wanted an inline 4 600 and after trying for an R6 couldnt find a decent one so bought a 2020 636 which was one of the last ones made. His mate wanted an R6, tried an R7 and ended up buying a 765 Street Triple

Re: Kawasaki Screamers...
Not really.
There's the ZX6R which is 636cc, then you've got the MV F3 675cc and the unfaired Trumpet Street Triple which is now as 765cc.
I can't think of any other proper 'super sport' 600(ish) bikes.

Does it even exist anymore? When I look for magazines in the supermarket there's pick n mix sweets and seasonal produce (currently gardening stuff).

Practical Sportsbikes mag was deleted earlier this year by Bauer and subscribers given subs to Classic Bike.

I did ten years on the old magazine game, man and boy. Hardest game in the world, the old magazine game.

Re: Kawasaki Screamers...
I assume this really is a case of "bringing back" than a "new 600" though? So sorta half effort.

Re: Kawasaki Screamers...
Yeah basically... it's the old ZX6R in a new frock mostly from what we can see, most bits look pretty damn close.
