My old paddock stand isn't wide enough for the GSXS and realised I have 3 useless paddock stands in my garage (missing cups) so I'm gonna bin the lot and start again.
Ordered this today, hopefully it'll be OK and wide enough. Probably not the best but I will only use it for chain lube/cleaning so not heavy use so didn't wanna pay loads. It's an Oxford "premium" so hopefully not total junk
On the subject of lube I need some as running out of my usual Castrol racing lube. But decided to try this XCP stuff as supposed to be much thinner/more oily and was one of the top lubes in the Bennetts bikesocial test. My only gripe with the Castrol is that it's fairly tacky and in summer attracts dust over time which isn't great. It's not terrible by any means but fancied a change. The XCP scored not so well on fling, but reviews suggest a little goes a long way so will try little and often. Used like that apparently there should be little to no fling. However it doesn't attract dust so much so we'll see. Worse case I'll go back to the Castrol.
Finally I ordered a new chain cleaning brush as whatever the dealer put on was high fling whilst also resembling tar. So once the stand arrives I'll be cleaning and lubing

I have just sent my one of those back to SBS. The problem with the construction in that when used with cups the uprights twist in ( the bolts have play in them). On mine it wasn’t even - so it meant that the left hand side was lower than the right - making the bike unstable.
It was fine on bobbins - just rubbish on cups

That doesn't sound great! I'll be using mine with bobbins so fingers crossed. I couldn't use cups even if I wanted as the swingarm is banana one side and flat the other.

They're cheap on t'bay, I converted a fork one to cups for less than a fiver.
1 isn't wide enough, 1 was left outside in my mates garden for a while and not sure I'd trust the bike on it, the last doesn't have wheels and is ancient. So yeah probably not a bad thing to get a new one

And they are good at refunds - I sent mine back after 4 months use yesterday and got refunded just now
Absolutely. I had an intermittent issue with my TomTom Rider 450. It went back for repair and still had the issue and SBS pushed TomTom into giving me a new one without me having to push for it. Returns etc have all been done super quick too.
Well that might be short lived. Put 1 upright in the main body, fitted the collar and did it up super tight and there is slight play side to side in the upright. Instructions say don't over tighten but that if there is any twist in the upright not to use the stand and contact the dealer. If I can move it with my arms I'm not sure I'd trust it not to be moving with a 212kg motorbike on it. So guess I'm sending it back. Annoying as looks nice.
Might look for one without a 3 piece construction.
Know one of the school dads works for Harris so might enquire what he can get me one for. They are 1 piece

That's the one. If the width's ok then order one without any worries at all.
Just thought - as I'm recommending this do put a mat or something similar under the stand, being ally they can get a bit of wear on bare garage floors.

Ta, either that or I have a load of that rubber matting stuff to stop things sliding on bike seats so could wrap some of that around it whilst I sort a mat
