I was in the car yesterday,on a road I like to enjoy on the bike, when it's free from traffic. I was the second car back from a queue behind a tractor, resigned because there are absolutely no clear overtaking opportunities at that point. Approaching a fairly sharp left hander, the Seat in front of me pulls out and makes no hurry to get by. It looked like he was still in top gear to me. He ended up going around the outside of the tractor right on the bend. I'm thinking, anyone coming the opposite direction has zero chance of avoiding a head on.
He got away with it,so he'll most likely do it again until he doesn't.
People do fucking stupid things.
Patient overtaking required at all times !!!
I always think about fast bike's coming tuther way same times.
Still cold in the morning so still a bit wary but that’s a 1:12.2 which is equal with my best time between Tilly and Dollar. I think last year it was done when the ambient temperature was around 14° at that time in the morning. It was also done with the Michelin Power RS set to 32f/30r cold.
This time round it was roughly 8° ambient temperature and i now have the Michelin Power Cup 2 on the back, I still need to fit the front. I have the rear set to 25 psi cold and the front RS is still set at 32psi. Once the temps are up a little more I am sure i will go a little bit faster and bring the time down.

That 4th cog is going to have 10 X the mileage of the rest of the gearbag.
I could probably do the whole stretch in 2nd but with it being cold and early on in the commute the tyres are still cold so 3rd is probably the best option.
The iPhone does this thing where it will show pics from years ago, these popped up so thought I’d share them.
This was my first S1000RR, a Gen 1. It was a cracking bike, can’t remember what I did to it but I remember fitting a quick action throttle which made a huge difference.

There was a reason behind it, the car was playing up so I had to go to work to collect a battery booster pack, jump cables and a battery charger which I managed to get in a backpack so you can imagine the weight on my back, so decided to ride back home sensibly.
When I lived in London, I used to commute in every day on my ZX7 and then ZX10. It's fair to say that I rode like a bit of a knob much of the time and so, one day, while at work, I made a solemn vow to start riding slowly and sensibly for the good of my own longevity and society as a whole. I left that evening, pulling away from the first t-junction near the office as gently and smoothly as possible. I immediately stalled and dropped the bike.
I swore quite a significant amount as I picked it up and rode home like an absolute arsehole.

That reminds me, I did something similar, went out for a blast saying to myself “take it easy” not easy easy but way less than the usual and I had 3 “oh ya cunt” moments and I put it down to the lack of concentration because I wasn’t on it.
This was many moons ago, think it was a zx9r that I had at the time.
1:09.4 which is another 1.5s knocked off. I could probably do a sub 1:09 but I’m not willing to push any more, tyres aren’t really up to temp and the ambient temps in the morning are still low, I think that was 9° this morning at a push. Plus I wanted a 1:10.5 or less so that’ll do.
I completely forgot that after the service, maybe the 2nd ride since, the bike died on me when I left the house and threw up an error message on the dash. I can’t quite remember what it said exactly but it wouldn’t start again, I then switched it off and back on and it was fine thereafter until yesterday morning.
When I left home I got an error message, but this time it kept running but it was clearly in limp mode. I tried switching off and back on twice but it didn’t work. I rode it for 1/2 mile and stopped and tried again and this time it was fine thereafter.
The message was : Fault in the engine control onward journey possible ride carefully to next specialist workshop
Now I think that’s the same message as before and after googling it some people have experienced the same message and sometimes there’s will just die like mine did the last time and others it’ll run like mine did yesterday. Now the book doesn’t help much as it covers a lot of systems within the electronic side of things, I’m sure it’s a low voltage reading back to the ECU but without connection to GS911 I won’t know for sure, it could be anything from a loose connection to a faulty fuel pump or battery that’s on its way out.
But it’s covered anyway so I’ll phone BMW even though I don’t trust the sons of bitches. I should have mentioned to them when it happened the last time because I was in contact with the mm about the leaky bleed nipple especially as that had just happened after the service but I just simply put it down to an erroneous readings from a sensor that would more than likely never happen again and forgot about it.
I’ll contact them this week coming.
P.S a mate has a GS911 but he’s a trek away and I can’t be arsed, I’ll maybe take a ride through just to see, have the heads up before it goes back to BMW.
Fault showing up, I thought I had switched off and back I. Three times before it was normal again but it was only the twice. Will get the GS911 hooked up to see and call BMW as well. I’ve checked the battery and it’s fine, some have suggested that could throw up faults due to a low return voltage from certain sensors but I’m leaning more towards this being a singular fault code that will show up once plugged in.
My instincts are telling me fuel pump but I will have to wait and see.
Another comparison video. This section is a 50mph limit, the camera doesn’t actually do it any justice as it makes it look more open than it is. There are some proper tight corners so even at 50 some of the corners are tighter than they look, when in the car 50 can feel fast. I drive cars like Miss Daisy.
