I was only bemoaning the lack of sporty tourers yesterday, and here BMW are with one hell of an answer. 210 bhp was a tad more power than I had in mind, but if it's offered, then it's rude not to.

It does seem to have more bits stuck on than the stock S1000XR, but the M1000RR has more 'wings' than the S1000RR so it's in keeping with the M philosophy, or something.

I wouldnt call it an ADV, its a sportsbike with an upright riding position.

I rode the original S1000XR which didnt quite suit what i needed/wanted from a bike......this one is even more performance focused so i assume going up against the nekkid V4 Ducati

Technically that’s the M version of the 2023 bike which I think they are referring to as the “Gen 5”, albeit it’s still a K67, a lot of changes to my Gen 4 and the MY22 M1000RR.

It's not massively better or worse looking than a lot of bikes BMW have made but, being negative about it, it does seem to be the bike version of a mid-sized SUV / soft-road / faux wheel drive.
