M1000XR

Post by KungFooBob »

Take one already bat shit fast ADV(ish) bike and add another large dollop of guano!

Apparently having an official reveal later this month.

One for Grounds Keeper Wullie when he gets too old for a racing crouch?

I'm confused. Will it smell of piss or not?

I'll stink a bit more than a M/S1000RR, but not as much as a GS.

I was only bemoaning the lack of sporty tourers yesterday, and here BMW are with one hell of an answer. 210 bhp was a tad more power than I had in mind, but if it's offered, then it's rude not to.

That could whisk me down to the south of France in the blink of an eyelid...

I'm confused too. Are all those random bits stuck on it just to disguise it until the full reveal? :hmmm:

It does seem to have more bits stuck on than the stock S1000XR, but the M1000RR has more 'wings' than the S1000RR so it's in keeping with the M philosophy, or something.

I wouldnt call it an ADV, its a sportsbike with an upright riding position.

I rode the original S1000XR which didnt quite suit what i needed/wanted from a bike......this one is even more performance focused so i assume going up against the nekkid V4 Ducati

Well, I'm not sure what they've done but I think that eg Wull's bike is a thing of beauty but they've managed to make the bike in that pic look a bit of a dog's breakfast tbh. I'm sure it'll be epic to ride but it's a bit :hmmm:

Technically that’s the M version of the 2023 bike which I think they are referring to as the “Gen 5”, albeit it’s still a K67, a lot of changes to my Gen 4 and the MY22 M1000RR.

The M1000RR of my bike is this

It's not massively better or worse looking than a lot of bikes BMW have made but, being negative about it, it does seem to be the bike version of a mid-sized SUV / soft-road / faux wheel drive.

And the M decal's crappy.

Admittedly less bling/power than the Beemer but still options.
