The two teenagers in Ely/ Cardiff
https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/f ... r-30061139
When you look at the video, they do appear to be being chased - but two up on a Suron type, de -restricted e-motorbike,
I just love the way that them crashing becomes the police's fault - rather than trying to establish why they were being chased. Obviously they were both wonderful lads and will be missed by all of the community.
I notice that the Daily Mirror is no longer using the picture of them as teenagers pulling gun / gang signs, and now us a picture of them at 12.
Maybe the uncle could have been a better uncle in giving guidance?

Re: The two teenagers in Ely/ Cardiff
I can't say I have much sympathy, the police didn't force them to ride 2 up on a motorbike without helmets.
If the police don't chase them then they will get more popular and there will be more accidents.

Two young lives wasted! Do I blame the Police? No of course not. Their job is to pursue and apprehend criminals and if we stop them doing that, the crimes will just increase. Life is all about choices and sadly, these kids made some bad ones and paid the ultimate price.

No sympathy and heaven forbid the police chase criminals to stop them doing it again.

Those things are north of 3 grand. So where did they get it? Either they're thieving little fuckers or some dickhead lent it to them.Mr Moofo wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 9:16 am https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/f ... r-30061139

I have fuck all sympathy for them, or the twats and their pathetic riot. (Laughs in Belfast accent)
I wonder how brave they'd be if the cops or army started firing plastic bullets at them?

Re: The two teenagers in Ely/ Cardiff
There's a lad rides one in Reading, black puffy jacket, hood up.
I don't know whether to admire him or shake my head at the inevitable accident. He's mostly on the back wheel cutting through traffic, swapping lanes - there's no way he can see if it's ok due to the hood, just relying on the trainers of invincibility to cause cars to brake/swerve out the way.
I'm sure he's a wonderful kid, who lights up a room, that everyone loves, blah, blah but he can't dodge fate forever (well, maybe he can and the devil does look after his own).
How do you stop them, though? Can't out-run them, needs a vehicle, none of the riders appear to wear a helmet so knocking them off is always going to be risky and with their agility and size they can cut through alleyways, bollards so easily, in an urban environment any chase is mostly going to end in a crash or the perp getting away.

I'm guessing that none of us on here actually knew them . We've probably all done things in the past that we wished we hadn't ? I think this forum would be a better place if this thread was deleted .

Re: The two teenagers in Ely/ Cardiff
This thread is more about the public outcry than the kids themselves, they died through misadventure and weren't a couple of innocent children killed by the state as many people want to make out.Treadeager wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 7:28 am I'm guessing that none of us on here actually knew them . It's sad and I don't think anyone would have wished it upon them for riding a slow motorbike but they ignored rules imposed by the state for their own protection. I can understand their immediate friends and family trying to find someone else to blame but for many this is just a convenient excuse to have a pop at the police.

Thread stays at the moment... whilst it may be an emotional topic, there's nothing against the rules yet.

Re: The two teenagers in Ely/ Cardiff
At least the Police actually turned up and done something.
I had a spate of yoots stealing scamblers around by my old gaff in the lovely Sunny Kingswood in Bristol.
They would bring them back to the estate and ride them up and down the middle of the flats and all over people gardens etc for hours pretty much every weekend. This was happening for over a year and my neighbour apparently called the police over 9 times and only once did they even bother turning up and when they did they just said "we cant do anything mate, we wont be able to catch them on a bike" i shit you not. They wouldn't even sit around and wait for them to come back and nick them, they just couldn't be bothered.
I remember ringing the police at around 3am once to report another bike they had nicked as they were making loads of noise right outside my bedroom window trying to break off a wheel lock with a big boulder, they were more interested in why in was up at 3am ringing them and i just hung up as it was a total piss take. By the time they had quized me for reporting this and helping them do their job, they had the lock off and were on their way, total total fucking joke.
So, it came to a head when one night one of the dumb yoots nicked another scambler and proceeded to do back wheel burnout on people gardens, one of those gardens was mine. I done nothing about it on the night but the next morning the idiot was back with the same bike showing it off to mates right outside our flats, that was it for me, i went out and went fucking mental and gave the fucker a good slap*, his badass mates just ran off to tell mummy.
I never saw another bike again for about the extra 6 months i was there.
If the police will not do their job correctly and catch these morons they will just continue being annoying little scrotes, until some vigilante steps in and 'has a word'.
They were about 19-22 years of age, so no child abuse was carried out with the slapping...

It's a lose lose situation for the police. I'm quite happy for the police to chase anyone who runs from them.

This is obviously very close to home (work) for me. I'm actually off for the week so haven’t got any more details than anyone else.
I have to say though, both here and pistonheads, it's generally really nice to see the support for the police in this situation.
Damned if you do..damned if you don't

I agree with a majority. It's sad that they died. But ultimately they were responsable for their own demise.

Re: The two teenagers in Ely/ Cardiff
I can't find anywhere that says how or what they crashed into?
Did they hit a wall, a car?
Must have been pretty major to kill them both?

I don't think anybody is disputing the probability that they were to blame , but nature or nurture.......there but for the grace of God.........
Some of the comments have been quite judgemental . I was actually asking MrMoofo to delete rather than admin .
Just my opinion !

Re: The two teenagers in Ely/ Cardiff
Two naughty kids dead, can't be nice for their relatives/friends and I'm fairly sure many of us have done worse things and just been lucky enough to not get caught/have an accident.
However, it does seem strange that the police claimed to have been somewhere else when it happened and I'd like to know if they had a dashcam fitted to the police vehicle before I go slapping them on the back for a job well done. On the footage we've all seen they looked to be right behind em.
<Shrug>.

Re: The two teenagers in Ely/ Cardiff
According to the beeb the police were right behind said scrotes up to a point, then they turned away. BUT the reason they turned away was 'cause said scrotes went down a pedestrianised/bollarded road and the van couldn't follow. So it's just as likely the police were 'going around' to try and catch up with the kids later on.
It all puts rather a dent in the Police claim they weren't chasing the kids at the time of the crash IMO. Yeah OK you weren't directly behind them, but all involved could still have been under the impression there was a chase going on.
Not that I think Police shouldn't be chasing people BTW. But they don't half shoot themselves in the foot sometimes with claims and changing stories.
