Savic motorcycle (Australia)

A new one on me, found surfing Cutting Edge Engineering.

It certainly has a "look". Not sure what I think about it tbh...

A hoot to ride no doubt.

Dennis Savic.

Clearly he hasn't taken into account the sort of moron who doesn't know what a rear stand is.

That screams 'prototype in search of working capital' to me. Moody lighting so you can't see any detail and absolutely minimal in terms of equipment. The motorcycling equivalent of vapourware, I'd suggest.

That was roughly my thoughts too. Quick Google suggests it's been in development for several years (2016).

If you're keen, you could invest:
https://www.savicmotorcycles.com/crowdfunding

Their site says:

When will I receive my motorcycle?
We start production of the first C-Series in Q4 2022.
At this stage we anticipate our second production run will start delivering from July 2023.

And for Yozzer:

Do you have different handlebar options?
Yes. We will offer a raised bar option. This will be discussed with your Customer Liaison closer to the build date of your motorcycle.

Looks like a squeezebox for an engine, which somehow reminds me of the smoker MZs.....reviled in the 70s and now deemed collectible.

If it had a frame, that finned emotor would look better. It's a good concept and I think the look of the finned motor will help with the transition from ICE to emotors, as looks play a part. A set of mandlebars and a more pointy seat unit would really wing it for me!

It's a bit further along than that.

https://www.mcnews.com.au/savic-motorcy ... irst-ride/

The usual problem is making the jump from prototype to production model.

One of the problems that I think the e-bike industry is struggling with right now are the almost endless attempts to reinvent the motorcycle's looks. For some reason I can't fathom, the designers want their bike to look unique. Usually the results are pig-ugly or likely bordering on unrideable - I've been covering their development for over three years on my webcasts.

Conventional ICE bikes look like they do for a blend of sensible ergonomic reasons and styling that sells. Attempting to build something that's a bike that looks totally different isn't going to attract the average biker.

Now, what if it looked like this:

That's an early prototype of the bike Ducati are filling the MotoE grid with this year.
