Went to Wales
So 3 of went to wales on triples, me, my cousin and mate. original plan was to visit the Mach loop and hope to see some planes, we went to Cad-west monday and stayed for around an hour, saw nothing and no one else had seen any so left and went to ride as it was cloudy and over cast, went back tuesday and decided against going back up the hill in full bike gear as it was boiling and we wanted to ride the stunning roads, good job i lugged camera and 100-400mm lens all the way there to not use it.
Anyway, after around a 140 mile slog along the M4 we crossed The Severn Bridge and then hit the road and headed to Dolgellau, found some stunning roads and views, we did the A470 among some other's, found some great B roads, traffic was quite light and it was dry until around 4pm the first day and the day we nearly boiled in out suits.
on the way home we head to the famous Top Gear route, Llandovery to Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen, great stuff loved it, views are amazing.
the roads there were amazing and i can't believe I've never been before, can't wait to get back and do it again.

Re: Went to Wales
Ahhh! looks like the black mountains. Used to be great, until they made most of it 40mph. Occasionally take my car and bike courses over there, but the good thing is that we can be 'flexible' with the limits

Re: Went to Wales
Also forgot to mention a bloody dog, going down some proper small lanes and I am guessing this sheep dog type thing hears the bikes and bolts out of some ones garden and straight in front of me to greet us, thank god for ABS, sod running over a dog. That’s not the one
Also speaking of dogs the biker friendly B&B has dogs
And a few green laners staying

Re: Went to Wales
Glad you enjoyed it. Yep, black mountain pass hairpin I reckon. I've stopped in same spot i think and watched the 4 wheel racers having fun there.
Lovely part of the world... Up the triples .

Next time try Bala-ffestiniog or llandovery to lampeter.
A5 is great, but now policed to death and driven by idiots now.
Ffestiniog-betws-capel curig-beddgelert-ffestiniog is a good loop too
