Couldn't Ducati find a stupider place to put the oil cooler on a bike that's (sort of) intended to be ridden on loose surfaces.

If it was mine I'd be fitting a 'Fender Extender' & oil cooler guard sharpish

I bought the wrong one but since found out good old Ali Expfres's offering is as good as the Evotech but about a 1/4 of the price? Quite a few of the hyper owners have them. One is on a slow boat to me as we speak...Bustaspoke wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 8:35 pm If it was mine I'd be fitting a 'Fender Extender' & oil cooler guard sharpish

I agree! Its definitely a wtaf moment when you first see that, but incredibly there has been (surprisingly) hardly any incidents. I'm gonna chalk that up to everyone fitting a guard set!!Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 7:25 pm Couldn't Ducati find a stupider place to put the oil cooler on a bike that's (sort of) intended to be ridden on loose surfaces.

I adjusted the gear lever but I've lowered it a tad too much. Still much nicer to ride though.

Better acceleration with lowered gearing.

Re: NBT: Sexy red beast has been bought and heading my way!
Belt service booked in for the 13th of June. Cant get it done any earlier. Supposed to be done at 5k but it'll be more like 5400!
Screen and o2 eliminators will be here this week. I'll fit the screen but I'll let the dealers fit the o2 eliminators as the tank needs to come off and I CBA.
Still really enjoying the bike and not even looking at replacements!

5 years or 18k. I think they'll last another 400 miles...Rockburner wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 11:56 am400 miles on old belts??Taipan wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 9:51 pm Belt service booked in for the 13th of June. Cant get it done any earlier. Supposed to be done at 5k but it'll be more like 5400!

Nah, it'll be fine mate. As you say they have a fair service life. How much is a belt service anyway?

c£500 at Hyside M/Cs. Possibly a bit cheaper at an indy but Hyside are the only place I can get it booked in at. Cost of living crisis?

I always use a local independent for service stuff now unless i think i can blag it from main Ducati for the "known issues" like fuel senders and rear wheel speed sensors.
My local one has a 2-3 month lead time this time of year so i try to build in any work i need done for the winter months.
As you said they are good for 18K or 5 years .....i wouldnt worry too much

Re: NBT: Sexy red beast has been bought and heading my way!
I read a thread about it and most say its bollocks and as we know cambelts on cars go a lot lot longer. I misread something and thought it was 5k miles interval at first! But I don't mind getting it done though and following the service routine. It's not actually 5 years old until September so I guess you could say I'm going in early!Bigyin wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 11:32 pmI always use a local independent for service stuff now unless i think i can blag it from main Ducati for the "known issues" like fuel senders and rear wheel speed sensors.

The rad guard set arrived yesterday. Will have a look later and compare it to the evotech one I have. I'm told the quality is the same, but if it isn't i'll punt the Aliexpress job on and get an evotech one.
The screen seems to be lost in customs at the moment. Not sure I'm bothered in some ways as i'm fitting it from a practical point of view and not an aesthetic one. I never like screens on these type bikes and initially hated the one I put on my Duke 690, but it helped and I soon forget its ugliness!
The only niggles i have is the short reach, fecking grabby clutch, although I'm more used to it now. Apparently its a thing and can be cured with some washer or another. Dunno if i'll bother, but I'll mention it to Hyside when it goes in and see what they say.
Still carrying a litre of fuel with me every second day of riding, but not needed it yet...
I have the R&G tail tidy to fit, but people keep telling me how shit they are as they don't bolt straight on and you need to adjust and drill things! Tempted to punt that on and just get a better make?
I've got about 800 miles on it now and have to say I'm still really enjoying it. I still think its the worse fuelling bike I've ever ridden but the SC Project adjuster has helped with that. I'll try replacing that with the o2 sensor eliminators as every tuner/remapper switches them off and even people who don't have a remap, but fit them, say it helps massively with the closed loop. I'm looking forward to seeing how that works out. If its not right i'll eventually take it for a remap somewhere but everyone that does them seems bloody miles away!
