The queen was my queen and always there during my life.
This king is not my king as I'm now a foreign resident.
I'll always be proud of my heritage and the Royal Family.
But this new episode will pass me by a bit.
Does Spain still not have Royals?
Yip :)
I walk past the King's Palace at least once a week :)

I see on the news the" he's not my king " brigade were there in numbers. If the alternative was to be a democratic vote, God help us. 🤦

If you live in the UK, or the Commonwealth, then he is your King.

They shouldn't be allowed the media exposure. Fair enough, demonstrate, however don't spoil it for everyone else.

They're just the usual anti society/anarchist group, and have, at best, a very poorly, thought out approach to how a society can live together.

I'm being generous; they want to destroy how we live - no room in the world for them.

I always thought Charlie was a bit of a tree hugger anyway, surely they should be trying to get him onside?

Did anyone else think he was bricking it at times? I noticed that on the way there, Camilla was actually shaking in the coach. Also the only people I saw talk to Ginger was Eugenie and her bloke and Anne. The rest all ignored him.

I've just done a popularity survey in my head.
Elvis the dog and 3 cats helped.

Queeny 90%
Charles 60%
Camilla 20%
Wills 70%
Kate 75%
Harry 50%

Hmm

When does frequent mocking of someone's paternity cross from banter to bullying?

I'm pretty meh about the royals, see SL's comment about Chesterton's law ^. I'm mildly surprised they are as normal as they are.

Cromwell was amusing too, when he was dying he tried to give the job to his son, I'm not sure that's how a republic is supposed to work.

When it comes to Harry, I think he's brought that upon himself...

Albeit with the help of one of the worlds most despicable and narcissistic gold diggers.

I have no problem with "privileged" people; it's pure chance what we're born into, and you make the most of it. Some people get the shitty end of the stick, some don't. That's life.

I do have a problem when "privileged" people bitch and moan, in the press, about their life, and how bad it is.

Course it's bullying. And it's definitely not something you can "bring upon yourself" whatever your jizzed up version of the media has told you or whatever mistakes or poor decisions the person in question has made (none of which are illegal). Say it to his face, it's a free country, most of us wouldn't.

One in 25 of us are not related to our birth fathers. You would imagine quite a high percentage are unknowing, of those who suspect, it's fairly likely they either don't want to know or would prefer it to be a private matter.

So , whilst most of us seem to agree about the benefits of the extra Bank Holiday ( and Penny Maudant ) , if you can read and accept the " wiki " link and not fall about laughing at some fictional bloodline

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_o ... succession

If you can accept the oaths that Charley III actually took......

THE OATHS
The Moderator receives the Bible and places it before The King. The King stands and the Archbishop says

YOUR Majesty, the Church established by law, whose settlement you will swear to maintain, is committed to the true profession of the Gospel, and, in so doing, will seek to foster an environment in which people of all faiths and beliefs may live freely. The Coronation Oath has stood for centuries and is enshrined in law.

Are you willing to take the Oath?

The King replies

I am willing.

The King places his hand on the Bible, and the Archbishop administers the Oath

WILL you solemnly promise and swear to govern the Peoples of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, your other Realms and the Territories to any of them belonging or pertaining, according to their respective laws and customs?

The King replies

I solemnly promise so to do. The Archbishop says Will you to your power cause Law and Justice, in Mercy, to be executed in all your judgements?

The King replies

I will.

The King kneels at the Chair of Estate. The Archbishop says

WILL you to the utmost of your power maintain the Laws of God and the true profession of the Gospel? Will you to the utmost of your power maintain in the United Kingdom the Protestant Reformed Religion established by law? Will you maintain and preserve inviolably the settlement of the Church of England, and the doctrine, worship, discipline, and government thereof, as by law established in England?

And will you preserve unto the Bishops and Clergy of England, and to the Churches there committed to their charge, all such rights and privileges as by law do or shall appertain to them or any of them?

The King replies

All this I promise to do.

The King places his hand on the Bible and says

The things which I have here before promised, I will perform and keep. So help me God.

The King kisses the Bible. The Archbishop says

YOUR Majesty, are you willing to make, subscribe, and declare to the statutory Accession Declaration Oath?

The King replies

I am willing.

I CHARLES do solemnly and sincerely in the presence of God profess, testify, and declare that I am a faithful Protestant, and that I will, according to the true intent of the enactments which secure the Protestant succession to the Throne, uphold and maintain the said enactments to the best of my powers according to law.

........and actually believe that they are for the good of all UK Citizens ( and not for the perverse self perpetuating establishment of the C of E ) then you are a Monarchist of the first Order .

I am NOT having a go at " Christianity " but the " Church " seems to have moved a long way from the simple preaching of a humble Jewish " Prophet "

Over the past few days we have heard rumblings from our Caribbean friends about calling time on this nonsense and we seen peaceful protest abolished at the whim of the police . I see no reason why the monarchy shouldn't be completely abolished , and not replaced with anything . ( Needless to say we need a complete revision of the " Upper House " . The elected leader of that body could assume any " Presidential " duties required ? )
