Clearly Mercedes wanted a German champion. LHs' car was literally unbelievably unreliable in comparison with Rosbergs' who also took the opportunity to ram LH out of his way whenever convenient and "oops" accidentally stop him from getting pole at Monaco etc. Watching Rosberg pretend to lose control and accidentally park his car where it would end qualifying is without doubt the worst display of unsportsmanlike behaviour I have ever seen.
Don't remember this then!

Re: F1 Race
Are they in Formula E ?
If they're not already the probably soon will be. It's where all the OEMs who are leaving F1, Le Mans etc end up.

Agreed, sounds like a bunch of kids with RC cars on Christmas morning.Wreckless Rat wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 1:06 pm Formula E.... eew.
That has to be the dullest racing ever.
It does seem to be the dumping ground for F1 rejects and those not good or lucky enough to to get there.

Tbh - if that’s the future of racing, it’s done for.Bigjawa wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 7:51 pmAgreed, sounds like a bunch of kids with RC cars on Christmas morning.Wreckless Rat wrote: ↑Fri Oct 02, 2020 1:06 pm Formula E.... eew.

Re: F1 Race
Loads more variation in winner though, plus actual overtakes.
I think anyone born after about 2010 won't give a shit about how vehicles sound. Maybe that's losing something, maybe it's not, but that's how it will be IMO.

I have no doubt it’s the future. It seems a shame though mans greatest invention is arguably the ICE.

I think a machine that produces useful mechanical work -I.e. a driveshaft or something like it - and which far outstrips animals is one of the most significant inventions. But piston engines specifically? No not really.

Re: F1 Race
Right now maybe, but it was steam engines that kicked it all off and its electric drives which will take it in future.
Even today I'd bet most driveshafts are actually attached to an electric motor when you consider all the industrial applications. Plus trains, trams etc.

Can anyone really argue it wasn’t simply his skill and tenacity that shone today?
Let me guess... he was lucky....

Re: F1 Race
Amazing drive, to win that after being 6th on the grid and to manage to do it on only one pit stop surely proves it is not just the car that is superior.Wreckless Rat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 6:03 pm Can anyone really argue it wasn’t simply his skill and tenacity that shone today?

Re: F1 Race
Indeed. People will have you believe verstappen could whoop Hamilton, if only his car was faster... today what did he do, he spun it, not just once either... finishing some 30 odd seconds behind.JamJar wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 7:43 pmAmazing drive, to win that after being 6th on the grid and to manage to do it on only one pit stop surely proves it is not just the car that is superior.Wreckless Rat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 6:03 pm Can anyone really argue it wasn’t simply his skill and tenacity that shone today?

Today Hamilton shone - his skill, his patience, his tactical skill whooped the entire line up. Well done Lewis - a worthy champ, yet again.
Re: F1 Race
Max really lost his cool, you might argue he was a bit unlucky but you need to ride your luck. Lewis is calmness personified and as a driver, he is a bit good. I did like Charles having a do at the last. Proper racing.Wreckless Rat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 7:50 pmIndeed. They should resurface all the tracks.
