Very pleased with myself. About to take dog for walk number two in the day. Then heading out tonight for a couple of pints and a curry with the church men! Will be a fun evening.

Excellent dinner in a little Bistro in Paris. Onion soup, duck confit with pomme sarladaises, prunes poached in wine. Half a bottle of excellent red.
€25 a head in central Paris.
Italian guy with me took exception to my statement that "the French do the best food", which lead to half an hour of animated conversation on the topic.
Excellent dinner all round

Whenever our German colleagues visit now they want to go for curry. Indian food is way better in the UK they tell me.

A korma would be considered a bit picante locally, a chilli would be les hémorroïdes du diable.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Needed my barnet cut. Usual bloke who does it is recovering from an op so I tried a new place near me that's recently opened.
Walked in, it's all trendy lighting, tellies on the walls, art hanging up and banging 'choons'. I'm at least 30 years older than most of the barbers in there.
Sat down and looked at all the blokes getting a haircut. Fuck me, everyone was getting the same cut, shaved at the bottom, blended into a bit longer on top with a blended in beard. This isn't a barber shop, I thought, it's a fucking geeeeezer production line.
Anyhow, I take my turn in the chair and I explain that I'm 53, not 23. In fairness, good job and I don't look all 'fahkin Essex, innit'.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Went for coffee, made ginger cake and cleaned the fridge!! LOL
The fridge I have ben avoiding doing for ages cos it's an undercounter jobbie and me not being very mobile with one arm, it's just a bastard of a job! Roll on a lottery win/permanent contract so I can get a place that has a bedroom and room for an upright fridge freezer so I can 'manage' the fridge without sitting on a low stool or the floor!! LOL LOL

I had the headstone and surround replaced on my mother and father's grave. That's the last thing I'll do for them both.
