You'll be pleased to know that he spent over £1m of tax payers money paying people off to hush hush since becoming mayor. Oh and whilst knife crime is rife, £10m of tax payers money was spent on him jetting off across America.
If that sort of thing interests you, have a read up on how much politicians spend on overseas research trips, albeit much funded by foreign governments etc.

Also read up on Boris Johnson's spending when mayor. eg Allegedly £53M on the 'garden bridge', or "Three water cannon bought and refurbished for more than £320,000 while Boris Johnson was London ... were sold for £11,025 "

NB do you have a link for the £10M statement? Other sources suggest much less:

Sadiq Khan's five-day trip to the US cost the taxpayer at least £34,263, City Hall says.

London's mayor was accompanied by eight officials with ground transport costing the most (£21,108), according to a Freedom of Information (FOI) request.

Business-class flights were provided by United Airlines, with only taxes and fees of £2,802 payable.

The mayor visited New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles during May's trip to "bang the drum for London".

City Hall's previous occupant Boris Johnson led a delegation to the US in 2015, which cost the taxpayer nearly £40,000 - including about £15,000 on flights - according to an FOI request.
It was the campaign on top of the cost of the trip, which cost £10m https://www.cityam.com/new-yorks-slice- ... -campaign/

so actually I guess it ended up costing more in that case.

So not actually Khan's bill at all.

However, post-covid, it would be interesting to know whether there was an equivalent (ideally much more) increase in tourism as a result of that spend.

He's the Mayor of London, the trip was to promote London, therefore it is Khan's bill. He decided to do it, he spent it.

Mayor of London has a budget to promote London. My word. Whatever next?

Proof, guess, or baseless accusation?

It's no secret that London needs tourist cash and tourism was clobbered by covid.

And your original statement was

I could understand why you want proof that Khan is the mayor of London. It does beggar belief, or does it?

If you don't like the idea, take your phone, throw it in the bin and just use a land-line.
For my benefit, could you please point out the tinfoilhattery with these three observations:

Being on the road when all vehicles are simultaneously distracted.

Mission creep with new technologies and "public safety" measures.

Sadiq Khan is a cunt.
1. Sure
2. Missin creep hasn't happened
3. You've met him?

You're looking for conspiracy in something that's complete fiction, hasn't happened and may never happen but you've decided that's the likely outcome.
Isn't that pretty much the definition of science?

Is science wrong as well?

Science is a set of predictions based on calculations from information gathered by the human brain right? Is that not also the definition of how we predict what each other will do?

Speaking of which, I just spent a week effectively without broadband thanks to Vodafony.

When I did struggle to find a connection, most of the bandwidth was taken up by synching with my new system.

Apologies if I did not precisely follow the minute by minute updates on current affairs.

I do not claim that anything I have written here is science.

I do however understand what science is, whereas clearly, you do not. You should stick to moronic insults which appears to be your forte.

Mmmm....Science is the current understanding. That may or may not be refined over time.

There are some scientific 'facts', but there's not as many as you would think.

There are many, for a given level of 'fact' ;)

As far as 'research' goes, it should be:
- repeatable (enough detail in the published report to allow that) and produce the same results
- designed so that the outcomes are not adversely affected by uncontrolled influences

Well exactly.

Research is almost theoretically pointless IMO as it always comes back to the fact that we are what we are and there is nothing else, science tries to prove this, but can't! - Believing there is nothing else does not make you clever or more evolved, nor does it make you inferior, you need to live your life out how YOU think it should be played otherwise we are all fucked, we will all be breeding the same genes and will continue promoting a failing society that is led by greed!

We know what we are doing, but are all just too paranoid and ignorant to except our fate!
