Re: What have you done today thread?
It means exactly as it sounds, when you are off the throttle (closed throttle) and then start to open the throttle, throttles will have a x amount of free play in them and sometimes dependant on what you are like getting back on the throttle can make them feel jerky or not, being as smooth as possible can help, some like to adjust the free play out of them so they feel more connected like an off on switch kind of thing.
If it’s fuelling then the above won’t make much odds, a lot of the ride by wire bikes suffer with jerky throttles and they were solved with mapping it out. Some earlier bikes had part ride by wire throttles so you had cables initially so still had tue ability to adjust them, the latest ones you can’t really do anything without mapping them.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I didn't mot the Triumph as insurance company wouldn't add to my multi bike as they consider removing the fairing to be to big a modification.
So instead I fitted the tyres I bought off Weeksy a while back to the Guzzi instead.
As a Brucie bonus someone was willing to pay the same for my part worn rear tyre (the front was pretty much done) as it cost to change the tyres and balance the wheels so basically a freebie

Hit the minibus this morning Not just the one I was driving, I reversed into a colleague
It seems I've not damaged his van (lucky cos it's a rental), but the rear bumper on the T6 needs replacing
FFS. I can feel my chances of a permanent contract slipping away

100%. The bloody reversing beeper was beeping and I was watching the car I knew was at the rear right. Customers chatting to me. 04:45. and totally forgot that my colleague had parked to the left of me
Crap piece of driving!!
TBF, the bastard beepers do lie, so I rarely take any notice of them - but I am usually far more aware of what is around me

Started work proper early this morning so I could get out at 7am for a round of golf with the usual guys. Managed a 73 with some shots left out there as usual.

Shot a 0 this morning by not showing up at a golf course.. or even owning any golf sticks. Therefore I win.

We had some culture today. Went to see the Canarian Youth Orchestra.
Underground 200' in a volcano lava tube.
They've created a huge auditorium with amazing acoustics.
Rough count was 1,200 folk there, all in comfy leather chairs
Lovely place above ground

FFS, got the ZRX off the stand & out of the Baxley. Liner in the jacket. Put the bicycle rack & bike on the back of the ST. Moved the ZRX by the garage door & my damn hip joints are already giving me grief. A pre-ride tramadol is in order.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I led a ride today. When coming up to a junction I have to slow down and point to a corner so I can't use the clutch - as the bike is a bit "jerky" this is a challenge so I thought I'd try second gear - stalled - like a proTrinity765 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 15, 2023 5:35 pmI don't know what you mean about "getting back on the throttle"? It's ok when I'm more aggressive, dodgy when I'm going downhill slowly or pulling away slowly - I'm using the back break to keep it smooth.wull wrote: ↑Sat Apr 15, 2023 5:21 pmMore than likely, if you’ve adjusted the throttle cables and tried them at various adjustments and it’s still jerky then check fuelling, see if it can be smoothed out.Trinity765 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 15, 2023 5:16 pm Fitted some throttle spacers to the Speed Twin in an attempt to make it smoother as slow speeds and then went for a test run to Charlie's Farm Shop to buy some raw milk. The spacers have helped but not totally resolved the problem - it's a bit jerky at low revs - fuelling? The milk is lovely
Another thing to consider is how you are whilst getting back on the throttle, that can make a huge difference.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I do sometimes. To be fair, it's a well run group and most members know what to do and don't just ride for themselves. I've lead a couple of rides with Nick Sanders, who has no idea what corner marking is, so I've told the group to mark corners for themselves and they do.
