I’ll be saving alright. To try and put back the hundreds of $s I’m ripping through each day. The prices are bad enough but then you have a minimum amount of 18% tip on top. It is crazy expensive here. Makes Dublin look like Poundland!!! we’re now told each person is charged $35 city tax a day???

Re: What have you done today thread?
Paid off the loan we took out to buy the house. £10k paid off in 14 months instead of 36months. It hurt to do it, but it gets us debt free.
Now that money goes into pension fund instead. Up too early this morning, need to walk the dog just now and then help with taking a funeral+burial later this afternoon. Then coffee and something nice with my brother this afternoon! Have not caught up in ages and will be good to see him.
Beer and something nice this evening I am sure.

Yesterday, spent 8 hours in the car to have a four hour lunch with my parents, it would have been 6 hours in the car but apparently wimmin need to stop every 15 minutes for a piss.
Today day off, and sods law dictates its pissing it down all bloody day.

Walking stick. Borrowed one for a walk along a wet slippery rocky path.

I find two lolly sticks and a reel of Sellotape helps with age-related wobbliness.

Get a walking pole, then you'll look like a professional (as long as you don't tuck your trousers into your socks).

Crossed from Portsmouth to Caen on the overnight ferry, and my - was it blustery, or what. Car alarms on the boat deck were going off all night long, and no less than 13 motorbikes toppled over during the night. I was woken more than once by the pitching, yawing and sound of the propellers out of water.
But the big plus of the day was getting a French pet passport for Wilko, our cat. A €79 one-off payment for the PP and a rabies jab vs. £130 a pop each time we travel with him for an Animal Health Certificate - no contest really.
Now chillin' in a Clermont Ferrand B&B Hotel room, ready for a good night's sleep and an early(ish) start in the morning.
