Actually I just took it for an MOT and they told me what to fix.. This way I only have to fix what they spotted rather than everything thats wrong with it..Mussels wrote: ↑Mon Sep 28, 2020 3:08 pmNormally I'd say 'You mean you hope it's nearly an MOT pass' but I you are probably familiar with every MOT failure point. You should sell it as a service where people can bring their cars to you for a £5 once over to see if it's worth spending £50 on the real MOT.

Bloke was supposed to be coming to buy my dead Scudo today, immobilizer died and it had been lying a couple of years. Just for a giggle I ran a live feed directly from the battery to the stop solenoid, next thing everything comes back to life. Couple of cycles of the plugs and I give it a crank, chug chug chug, rattle rattle rattle and away it goes......
Fucking thing is running like a Swiss watch now when you put power to the solenoid.....

Presumably you've fixed or are going to fix whatever caused that tyre to wear like that.

It's a Corsa, there was a divorce and a stroppy ex wife involved. I dont think thats anything I can fix, but I dont anticipate the replacemnt doing the same.. In other news..

When I worked in MK, we all had company cars and the tyres all got shagged like that on the roundabouts. When I left there and had to buy my own car, the tyres didn't do that

That tyre also had 8 nails in it and a manky layer of tyre weld, which may also explain the odd wear, but not the flat spot

I had a Renault 9, or maybe an 11, with a dodgy handbrake that only worked on one wheel. I used to amuse myself and my children by leave hugely long skidmarks, but only one side of the road.
