Watched it, though it was pretty dull. Normally I'm a sucker for war films.

How interesting is dumping a body in the sea going to be?

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. (Nicolas Cage & Pedro Pascal).

Cage is living on the very, very borrowed time of Face-Off, Con-Air and The Rock. Pedro Pascal has been in some good stuff recently. And this is a parody fillum right? Imagine all the jokes they can fit in about Cage and the Hollywood Circus? Should be a blast.
I wish I'd put a bit more thought into this fillum selection - this is absolutely the most terrible, most disappointing waste of time and money this year. A stinker of a film, no redeeming qualities. If you're going to make a parody film about a washed-up actor called Nicolas Cage, starring Nicolas Cage, you better make fecking sure that the outcome is a not-so-stunning realisation about what a genuinely terrible awful washed-up twat Nicolas Cage is. Should have been a documentary. His success mocks my failures naturellement.

After this, and Operation Mincemeat, I am currently banned from choosing films.

Ben Macintyre wrote a book about it. The dumping of the body was about the least compelling part.

Well worth a read.

Yeah if you put it like that. ;)
It was basically quite a lot of three or four people in a pub inventing a backstory to fool those hateful jerries.

It's an interesting episode of history, but not exactly film material

But there is a musical of it if you're really masochistic

I lasted about 5 minutes.
Same here first time, but was told I should have stuck with it. Could go either way on that tbh! :D

It was one of those typically dry 50s war films with a bunch of nobodies

Seen it!

It was on at the Southwark Playhouse (down Southwark Street towards the Elephant) which is really small and not set out like a theatre in the traditional sense, more just chairs in front of the 'stage' which is on the same level, more or less. Hence, when the two pints of Fourpure beer, brewed locally and lovely, started weighing on my bladder, I had to do the 'Shuffle of Shame' along the row of chairs, then do the crouching walk, virtually through the actors in mid-scene, to get to the loo. Once there I didn't have the balls to creep back, so went and had another pint at the bar. :obscene-drinkingcheers:

Along the same as analysis of The Two Popes: "two blokes talking to each other". Doesn't quite do justice to a superb film.

I get you but in this case you've been warned. ;) It's not a film I would ever remotely consider watching again.

I've read the book and seen the original film, so bit of a spoiler for this one ;)

There's a companion film to that "Letters from Iwo Jima" with events seen from the Japanese perspective.

The Dry. Aussie film, which doesn't have a bad story, but it came across as a real low budget production. I still kinda enjoyed it though?

I've watched a couple of episodes, it's surprisingly not terrible.
