On the way back from working out in NZ for the NZ Transport Agency on the Shiny Side Up events, Judy and I took a five night stopover in Sydney to visit friends there, and from there we also took a rather mad side-trip to visit associate professor Chris Hurren's lab in Geelong where he performs the motorcycle clothing tests for the MotoCAP testing programme. That involved a flight to Melbourne, then a hire car to drive to the Deakin University campus. I've been fascinated by Chris's destruction-testing since I first met him back in 2018, so it was great to see the lab up close, to see how the equipment is used and meet one of his assistants as well.
It was a flying visit - a one night trip - Chris and his wife Angela were kind enough to put Judy and myself up and treat us to a piece of barbequed lamb as well as some of Chris's home made wine - pretty darn good too.
Anyway, the first of two reports on the MotoCAP visit is going out on my Elevenses live webcast this morning at 11am (Sunday 2 April) on my FB page and also - and probably easier to watch - YouTube channel. Here's the link.
Hopefully see a few of you at 11, but the report will remain available if you can't make it.
