Argentina MotoGP

Post by Yorick »

After last week's crash fest, I wonder I they'll calm down a bit.
With MM and Bastianini both out injured, Bagnaia is gonna extend his lead. And he says that these other 2 are not serious rivals now.

Really looking forward to this :)

Bagnaia seems to be in a pretty Zen state right now - focussed but cool with it. I think his comments about MM and the Beast were meant to say they are not immediate rivals as they will be losing points due to injury. The same is true of Oliveira, but for some reason he didn't name check Miguel. I just want Top Gun and Asparagus the Elder to keep Bagnaia honest and make him fight for the points. Be very interested to see how Bez goes - was Portimao a flash in the pan or can he consistently challenge?

I hope someone can step up and take it to Pecco, but I really don't know who that'll be. Martin might run him close for a few laps....if he stays on the black part...

Fabio doesn't look happy. Currently down in 14th and even Morbidelli up in 7th.

Pecco also being out-performed by 5 other Ducatis... But it's only FP1 and the track will improve significantly over the next couple of days.

Last year there was a lot of speed differences. Only 6 kph separates all the riders.
Fab Frog only 3 kph from top speed. Yamaha have given him the speed he craved, but still not enough.

The commentators were saying that he loses out on accelleration due to the bike wheelying, so sounds like the anti-wheelie electronics aren't working as they should. Apparently Yamaha struggle at low grip tracks, so hopefully as the track improves he can move up the order.

Yep, Absolutely. Laverty was saying last weekend that the reason the Ducati is faster, isn't sheer bhp, its that the electronics allow them to get the power down quicker out of corners the anti-wheely / traction control is just spot on compared to the others. difference is exaggerated on lower grip tracks..

Should be quite the bunfight. Hoping they don't skittle each other on the first lap. Bagpuss for the win though I'm secretly hoping zarco podiums.

A well-deserved pole for Alex Marquez, he nailed that one. Can't help thinking that his elder brother (besides being pleased for Alex) will be spitting tacks sitting at home, as those 'not fully wet/not properly dry' conditions are where Marc excels. I reckon it would have been Marquez v. Marquez fight for pole had Marc been fit and present.

Normal rules don't apply to Brad Binder... Great to see Frankie at the sharp end again.
