Just thought of something:
Front brake feel & bite etc... Play with the span adjuster. I thought there was something wrong with the front anchors on mine, then I increased the span & they were much improved. They still aren't like my ZRX fronts which will howl the front tire with maybe 1/2in of lever travel, but they get the job done.
I did that, but still thought they were not up to spec, the radial master cylinder is soooo much better
I think I've just got luck with the piston size
It's been sitting since the (I thought) clutch slave cylinder fails, rebuilt it and..... Couldn't bleed it, bought a vacuum bleeder, still no good, slave off again, the seal was the right way round.
Bleed nipple as I was getting a load of air out of it but no pressure at the lever.
I found out that the clutch hose is rubber then attached to metal, it had split just above the join.
The stainless one arrived today, may fit it tomorrow
All bled up etc, started it up and ....no drive
I held the front brakes on and put it into gear and let the clutch lever out and nothing, not even a noise from the clutch area.
At least with the stainless hose I can remove the slave cylinder and see how it's working
Lots of feel at the lever
Clutch master cylinder rebuilt twice yesterday, the first time I used the new spring from the kit but it was a bit shorter then to oe one, the lever had not a lot of travel until it hit the bar, so I redid it with the old one spring
Much better, the lever has resistance from further away now
Not made sure that the clutch engagers correctly yet as Tuesday it's carbs off as it's still crap at starting Even after taking them to bits the other day, I have brand new pilot jets to go in and I'm going to I attempt to at least fit the bottom half of the carbs in the ultrasonic cleaner
It starts on 3(?) No1 is cold enough to touch when no 2,3or4 will burn skin off
I lied, no 4 is cold too,I just tried it, I couldn't get to the other side before
So it starts (kind of for 1 second) on 2 cylinders
Should I get gpz500 badges??
I swapped the coils over, 2 and 3 getting warm but not 1 and 4
I also chopped a bit from each end of the plug leads just incase there was any corrosion.
As the airbox was off ,I used a bit of easy start into the non running carbs, still no better
Today as it was a day off,I removed the carbs again, fitted the new pilot jets , sprayed everything, every passage I could get to, poked a single strand of wire in every little hole I could see.
Stripped and cleaned the throttle housing.
I set up a aux tank(small funnel stuck into the fuel line, topped up from a jamjar (it works)
As soon as fuel disappeared from the funnel (on took a second to empty) I stopped her turning over and topped it up, then it ran, so much better than ever, tomorrow new fuel filter and go for a ride

She runs and so far runs really well.

Road test done, it starts, the clutch works,, it's just the rider is a bit rusty
Nice one! What was the clutch issue?
Someone who's a bit rusty had put the piston in the wrong way round, I managed to download the workshop manual and after a 0345 shift I managed to see what I had done wrong
