I missed that interview, however that is great, great news.

Re: Portuguese MotoGP
Just wondered if they were your pics. I was there last year and access was limited. we had seats at turn one but the perimeter path was gated off so we couldn't walk around the track - I think it was Covid restrictions still in place. The images you posted seem to be from around the track...

Re: Portuguese MotoGP
First Japanese bike 9th, tells a story that. I'd still rate Marc and Fab as in the top 3 riders but their bikes are shite. Marc can't keep riding like that though he's so overriding it's silly.
Some good performances 4th back. Zarco pulled a blinder.

Re: Portuguese MotoGP
I'd say it's a bit more than silly - borderline reckless I'd call it. Torpedoing 2 other riders is unforgiveable. The kind of miscalculation that Marini made, taking out Bastianini, is kind of understandable and could be termed a racing incident. No way was Marc's trangression a racing incident.
And he's been sick as a dog over the weekend, apparently. He was properly on it today.

Re: Portuguese MotoGP
I haven’t seen it but read that MM had got out of shape before making contact so couldn’t really avoid it.

Re: Portuguese MotoGP
Oliviera escaped with no broken bones, but his leg is going to smart in the morning.
Double long lap penalty for Marc.
Asparagus the elder says Marc should be banned for one race. Apparently his manager talked him out of demanding Marquez be decapitated and his head stuffed on a pole and placed in the paddock for all to see.

Re: Portuguese MotoGP
I watched it live, and saw it on all the replays. Marc was simply going too fast to make the corner, bounced off Jorge Martin and then torpedoed Miguel Oliveira. If he can't avoid contact like that he shouldn't be racing.

Re: Portuguese MotoGP
That was a horrible crash for Joel Kelso, just over the finish line in Moto3. Hope he's ok.
The Aussie is one to watch for the future.
Acosta seems to be back to full fitness and looks set to dominate Moto2 this season. I expected more from Dixon, but although he and Lowes made some ground toward the end, they were never close to the front runners.
Marquez tripped over his own dick trying to make the Honda do the impossible, which was a pity for Olivera and Martin.
Bagnaia just looks like he has more in hand than everyone else, while Yamaha's misery starts again. Morbidelli was loosing something like a second every lap of the race.

Re: Portuguese MotoGP
MM was at fault, but fantastic to see his old aggression returning. Obviously no lingering health problems.

I think his plan is to skittle the championship contenders until they're so broken they can't ride.

Re: Portuguese MotoGP
If his 'old aggression returning' leads him to make mistakes like he did today, I'd say he'd be better off without it. Or rather the rest of the grid would be better off. I think he has to get it into his head that he's not the MM of 4 or 5 years ago and face up to a new reality. He's still as quick as anyone on the grid but he's no longer head and shoulders above the rest. Today was a case of his ambition out-stripping his ability.

I meant that he's not scared of his injuries and prepared to battle.mangocrazy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 6:12 pmIf his 'old aggression returning' leads him to make mistakes like he did today, I'd say he'd be better off without it. Agreed. In that respect he is the same MM as he ever was.

Broken a bone in his hand and possibly not fit for next weekend. Martin suffered a broken toe, too.

Re: Portuguese MotoGP
I think we're all getting a bit caried away blaming Marc; plenty of people have done the same thing - from the top of my head: Gibernau playing skittles at the start of the 2006 Catalan GP; Zarco wiping out Morbidelli and causing near decapitation of Rossi and co at the Red Bull ring; Doohan taking out Schwantz and Barros in the 1993 Donnington GP; Alex Marquez doing a pretty similar thing as Marc in last years Australian Grand Prix; and the worst, Rossi blatantly wiping out MM by jamming his front brake on.
It happens, even the best riders in the world can have a brain fart and make a mistake, especially when trying to compensate for an under performing bike. Hell, even a good chunk of the current grid did their best to try and take each other out in the sprint race yesterday, but I guess this is MM, the most hated rider in MotoGP (it would appear), and so his head is demanded.
