It looked lovely, but I couldn't get it to handle right. Even with Hagon's best custom made shocks on the rear. For the III they moved the upper shock mounts so they weren't laid over as much, I assume it was to help with handling. I've not ridden a III so can't say if it's any better.
I sold it to buy a 92 GSXR1100.
One model had two shock mount positions: solo and pillion. The latter being more vertical.
As you rightly say, the newer v7s have a more upright shock mount.
