Bunnings. And a right pig's ear they made of it too. :( (I think at one point in the past they were owned by WH Smiths too. It was a useful place but now it seems to be garden furniture, barbecues and Shabitat stuff.
B&Q always put Homebase's lights out if they ended up as neighbours. Kingfisher group have the clout.

True. Unfortunately the nearest B&Q isn't great in terms of location and parking but the Homebase is. If they put a B&Q next to it (in the carpet store) that would be  (Halfords is next to that so that would also be handy sometimes).

Cartoon music. Grandspawn is currently watching something, I know not what, but I do know it's a cartoon and I can work out the plot from the music.

Not always, B&Q had to close the big flagship store on Boucher but Homebase up near Stockmans is still trucking away. Mind you, they had MacBlair and Haldane Fisher just round the corner.

I worked in Texas Homecare, 10 years later I was back in Homebase, nothing had changed, same staff, same JML shite. Texas were owned by the same folk as Kwik Fit back then.

I briefly worked for B&Q, it's a much worse place to work than either Texas or Homebase.

By some minor miracle I nabbed one of the big Tower air fryers in Argos, wonderful device. Best thing for reheating doner meat I've ever seen.

The Boucher store always turned a bigger profit than the N/abbey store, but the reason they closed the Boucher one was because it was something like a million per annum for ground rent. Managing staff,B&Q are ruthless.

Texas were owned by Ladbrokes at one point. I think it was Ladbrokes that sold them to Homebase.

Lots going on the last few days for me

Guests left on Friday, gave me a €500 tip and no-one arrives until next saturday

Cained round on my snowboard for a bit before meeting up with some old friends at a apres gig (Friday). drank, danced, laughed, Got home in one piece just in time top drop my board of for yet another free waxing.

Inventorised the wine cave on Saturday which was bizarrely satisfying.

Thrashed round and round my favourite run yesterday. Over 70 miles according to Strava (Including lifts). I've found a choice of cool 'lines' including cliff drops and jumps and I just go round and round (25 laps!!)

Just been down to the shop to pick up my new 'weights'! Not huge ones, only 2kgs, but last week at physio, he had me using 2kg weights for shoulder rehab and we were both a bit amazed at just how much I could do using my right arm. So I bought some to practice at home!!

Daft how 2kg is impressive for arm curls and lying on the floor with my arm up in the air and then lowering the 2kg to the side down to the floor at AND LIFTING IT BACK UP AGAIN :D :D :D :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde: (there was another one; lowering the weight back down over my head from the same floor position - can't get my arm quite to the floor, but I can get it close, and lift it back up again :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde: )

Made me proper happy and so now I have to practice here to add some more happiness to life :D :D
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

We have a few bottles of La mission Haut Brion which I recall being used as a prop in a film to show how wealthy someone was !!

There's 3 bottles of Dom Perignon, 2x 2002's that are still boxed and a 2006

This is the cave. It's about 1/10 th of the size of the one in their main house in Gloucestershire. Their UK chef told me he had signed for a wine delivery a while back. With which " you could have bought a house " !!

Ooh...nice. The Chateau La Mission is a few bob a bottle. Whether it's worth it I'll have to test it to judge....I'm on my way

We've got pat testers in.

They're women.

They have a company uniform with a logo.

Good to see that they have some Famous Grouse for when the peasants want something to spice up their coca-cola.

I'm betting that they don't scurry around looking for un-registered email accounts when doing a Laithwaites order just to get a 'new customer' discount and free delivery like this old scuzzer does.

Taxing the LC for a whole year for the princely sum of £Nil. And not having to worry about getting an MoT.

There are definite advantages to being over 40... :D

I've just seen a UK champion strongman on TV folding a frying pan in two!
I thought to myself " I'm sure the strongmen on TV always used to demonstrate with phone books!!! But I guess phone books don't exist anymore  "
