Yamaha r125 look amazing in the flesh
I dropped off the 636 at a local bike dealer who wanted it for a track day and had a look around his stuff and he had this Yamaha r125 for sale…
It would struggle carrying me about i suspect but what a thing for someone wanting a 125. Looked like a proper bike. I’d have been very pleased rocking up to sixth form on that.

I hadn't 2p to rub together when I was at secondary school. Bikes were only a dream.

Same but also I wouldn’t have been allowed to have a bike even if it was a possibility

Me neither, but I scraped together enough to buy the cheapest thing in the local scooter shop. A Lambretta TV175 which was far from new. Learned a lot just by keeping it running
A couple of friends had brand new Japanese 125s and they were an eye opener...who knew things could rev that high!

They do look great. There are a few kids around this way who have them. They all have godawful open pipes on them though - they sound like really loud C90s whose exhausts have fallen off!

We were too pikey for sixth form.
The revs climb far too slowly too

Yeah kid in my road has one, at least I think it's one of those. Loud can and lot of blips coming down the road. I love it as it's a kid actually getting into bikes.
I should imagine my old TZR125 would smoke it though as the 4 strokes are proper restricted.

Even my old YAS 125 was quickerer than a modern one.Supermofo wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 6:11 pm Yeah kid in my road has one, at least I think it's one of those. Loud can and lot of blips coming down the road. I love it as it's a kid actually getting into bikes.

I had an Aprilia AF1 125 at 6th form. But then again I am pretty hard and street and cool.
When I went to University I had a GSRX1100L.
Both bought with money I'd earned doing work.

Part time model, part time enforcer. Semi professional gigolo?
I didn't go to sixth form, I did a YTS. To get there I had a GP100, when that was stolen a KC100 and when that was stolen a NS125R.

Re: Yamaha r125 look amazing in the flesh
I had one up till august last year.
I was 47, 6'1 and 19 stone.
I'm sure I looked ridiculous but it was one of the most fun bikes I ever had, it would redline in top at an indicated 81mph.

Working in a village shop and then as a motorbike courier sadly.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 8:49 pmPart time model, part time enforcer. Semi professional gigolo?

And look at you now, shitting the clever IT money and motorhomes and Mercs and Maseratis. And me ending up as a form filler inner and checker, running round in an old VW.
