Bitter NHS employees.
Our local private hospital has an MRI unit which is also used by the NHS, the nearest 2 NHS hospitals are a fairly long drive away. So when my wife got a call about an MRI in a distant hospital she asked if it could be done locally, the woman on the end of the phone said sharply "If you wanted to go private you should have told your GP".
I can only assume the horrible woman isn't considered important enough for private heath insurance and isn't clever enough to realise we weren't asking for private treatment.

My gay friend has given me chapter and verse on how to do it. It used to be that the odd one could be plucked, but lately it's like a full scale assault of pubes from my nostrils.
Not a good look.

20" rims on cars with really thin tyres backed up with not enough suspension travel, they look pretty but every time I go out I wonder if the next pothole will break another wheel. I hit a pothole this evening it split the sidewall, I'm just hoping it hasn't broken the rim as well.
I checked the pressures 2 days ago and the tyres are heavy load rated, why are they so fragile?
The silver lining is I have disliked these Goodyear Eagle tyres since they were fitted so I'll be happy to see the back of them.

That I can't buy replacement heating plates for my Breville toastie maker, I'll be buggered if I'm buying a new one off them again.

Had that issue on my old Merc - cost 2 AMG rims and 2 new tyres, fortunately company picked up the £2000 tabMussels wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 9:10 pm 20" rims on cars with really thin tyres backed up with not enough suspension travel, they look pretty but every time I go out I wonder if the next pothole will break another wheel. The Oscars.
Pile of self-congratulatory wank. For fucks sake, you pretended to be somebody else in a film that maybe some people will watch to waste a few hours of an evening. You really make fuck all difference in the world, despite your ego telling you otherwise.
(Same applied to BAFTAs, Tonys, etc)

My sales director asked me what I drank, I told him spiced rum.
This morning he hands me a bottle of Dead man's fingers.
The only spiced rum I don't like.
I'm an ungrateful bastard.

The idiots are still at it…Silly Car wrote: ↑Mon Feb 13, 2023 1:29 pm The local authority conservation dept.
We need to replace the roof on the front of our house with the correct size and colour of Welsh slate. We’ve applied to the L A for Listed Building Consent stating the roof will be replaced with Welsh slates of the correct size and colour to match neighbouring properties.
We are fully aware of the legal ramifications of not complying with the Grade 2 listing on the property.
The idiots in their fucking Ivory tower want to see samples, on site, before they will sign them off and won’t accept a slate from the original roof as a suitable sample / example. This means my roofer needs to source 1500 slates, get them on site, get the fucking monkey from the Council out to sign them off and be able to return them should they not please the council fucktard and then attempt to source replacements.
No wonder people flout the regs!
The only analogy I can think of as being comparable is ‘you need to buy a flame red, petrol, 1.6l, 2010 Ford Fiesta Titanium X with Michelin tyres and pink furry dice on a sale and return basis so that we can check you have bought a flame red, petrol, 1.6l, 2010 Ford Fiesta Titanium X with Michelin tyres and pink furry dice before you can keep it’. Fucking idiots!
FYI, ‘northern’ grade, good quality Welsh slates in the correct colour and dimensions are like rocking horse shite or exceedingly expensive when available.
My roofer has managed to find what he and I believe are suitable slates at a “reasonable” cost, roofer provides two samples, I contact the planning dept who after speaking with the conservation team state a photo of the samples are suitable together with information about the source (a fucking deep hole in Wales!).
I duly provide a photo and outline those exact slates will be sourced once the job has been scheduled from the supplier who has the right items, at the best price and availability.
This morning I receive an email saying they want to see a sample, on site, from the palette (sic) they came on. FFS, we are back to where we started, buying 1500+ slates made from expensium to be inspected and then hopefully being able to return them if the fucking dickhead in the conservation dept doesn’t like them!
Or buying 2000 reclaimed slates on the same hope and then being able to punt them on should they be deemed as unsuitable…

I went to drive to the tyre shop this morning and noticed a dangerous bulge in the front as well, so one pothole took out 2 tryes but it looks like the rims are OK.v8-powered wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 9:19 amHad that issue on my old Merc - cost 2 AMG rims and 2 new tyres, fortunately company picked up the £2000 tabMussels wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 9:10 pm 20" rims on cars with really thin tyres backed up with not enough suspension travel, they look pretty but every time I go out I wonder if the next pothole will break another wheel. Good news is the tyre guy said I'd be fine movingthe o/s front to the n/s rear and just replacing two tyres so it isn't costing me any more.
Slightly annoyed as he said he can't get any all-seasons (I know they are available but I need some quickly), they have apparently improved a lot but the last set I tried were awful so I may have dodged a bullet.
Now waiting for some SportContact 7s to be delivered and see if the under-steering problems go away.

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
Banks. FFS they are shocking!! LOL
I've not had good experiences over here so far but thought I'd found a good one.
But, went to transfer some money to my Revolut account on Saturday to do some shopping and pay something in Sterling. Nope, bank app is down until Monday morning. Bit annoying, but ok (sort of!). This morning I went to do the transfer as a friend is going to drive me to the valley to get shopping and nope, the app is down until tomorrow morning I emailed the bank and they are changing their system (think they've been taken over) so the online stuff is down until tomorrow now - she also said "you will have received your new identifying code by email". Nope. Not received. So even when the app is back up and running, I won't be able to access it - and I can't get back down to the valley until Friday
The bank card with that account hasn't worked for a few weeks, but I've just transferred money to Revolut and used that! But now I could do with the card working and they can't help because their systems are down
Saturday I went to Transferwise app to see if I had some swiss money I could use for the parking at the airport. But, for some random reason, they seem to think I am a new customer and I can't access what I need to on the account (was pretty sure I don't have any CHF there, but more peeved about the account being restricted!!)
So, out of the bank cards I have, only one works and I can't put any money into the account until fck knows when!! LOL
BASTARDS - I have been so proud to have cash in the bank at mid month - I suppose the one positive is it will stay there longer, but the negative is not being able to pay bills

Back to irriating me, one of the remaining tyres has a smaller bulge in it that will fail the MOT in a couple of months. So another 2 tyres to buy next month.Mussels wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 12:33 pmI went to drive to the tyre shop this morning and noticed a dangerous bulge in the front as well, so one pothole took out 2 tryes but it looks like the rims are OK.v8-powered wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 9:19 amHad that issue on my old Merc - cost 2 AMG rims and 2 new tyres, fortunately company picked up the £2000 tabMussels wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 9:10 pm 20" rims on cars with really thin tyres backed up with not enough suspension travel, they look pretty but every time I go out I wonder if the next pothole will break another wheel. This winter's potholes have cost me 4 tyres.

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
Gen 12 processors and TPM - getting a fucking OS on an HP device that only takes windows 11 is a fucking minefield of issues, so much so that HP are struggling to even advise how to do it - driving me fucking crazy!
I just want to roll a machine up to W11 Pro from W11 Home, it works but then bitlockers the machine without a password without me telling it to!
Then, booting from my W11 Boot media with the correct partition scheme etc results in me not being able to see the local drive to install to. Tried loading a rapid storage driver on the W11 install option doesn't work as HP doesn't know what RSD to use in their own device! - HP 240 G9 AIO PC!
Really!
This has been going on for 3 weeks and i am close to sending back the devices.

Do you not see it ? Don't you see that you just post stupid things like a 12 year old ? The post specifies he's speaking/spoken to HPe who are the people who build, design etc the hardware and they can't give a good answer.. they ARE 'someone who knows' or they ought to be.
Sometimes i think you are slightly deluded... but that's only on your good days.
