Re: Honda 750 Transalp
It was the press launch this week and the reviews are hitting the web.
All the ones I've seen have been pretty favourable.

All the reviews I've watched of the Hairnet are positive, even that Lamb Chop bloke liked it,so I imagine it will be similar for the Transalp.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 6:50 pm It was the press launch this week and the reviews are hitting the web.

Re: Honda 750 Transalp
That's a very positive review. The engine, especially, seems to be very good. At £3,500 more, but maybe not much more to offer except another 18kg, I'm wondering whether the Africa Twin will continue to sell?KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 6:50 pm It was the press launch this week and the reviews are hitting the web.

Re: Honda 750 Transalp
Yeah the @ has a very similar Power to Weight ratio... but that's only half the story. The @'s torque makes it more suitable for lugging a passenger or luggage about over the TranSlap.Scootabout wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 10:02 pmThat's a very positive review. Re: Honda 750 Transalp
Sure, but do you think many people who regularly ride two-up choose the Africa Twin? I wouldn't have thought so, but I might well be wrong.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 10:05 pm

I regularly ride two up.
I chose an R1200GS.
The pillion seat was biggerer than the @.

Re: Honda 750 Transalp
FWIW the French Moto Magazine has reviewed the Transalp alongside the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE, Africa Twin, V-Strom 1050 DE. They rated the Suzuki the winner, although all had their virtues:

Re: Honda 750 Transalp
Shame they didn't offer a DCT version of this. I think it would have killed off the NCX if they had though and dented Africa Twin sales a bit as well...

I think the NC750X is aimed at a very different sort of rider.
