Troo dat. Not the most exhilerating bike out there, but it'll get you where you want to go. 1300 quid?

There's not much about for that kind of budget nowadays, especially for a bloke who is a bit of a perfectionist.

All the obvious ones have already been mentioned sv 650,hornet ,CBR etc and you'll end up spending loads of time and money on any of them to get them to something you'd be even remotely happy with.

We all know where this is going to end anyway, so, I say you may as well go and get the bestest ,newest ,mintest low mileage KTM 690 duke you can find and bugger the finance lol😃

Pah,for 2 or three miles up the road once in a blue moon,it won't matter if you fit or not. :P

I can promise you it's not... It's about a 50% idea in my brain at best currently... the budget could stretch to a 690, but it's not a place i want to go. I was just thinking that a £1500 is a £1500 bike today, tomorrow, in a month... Especially if as you say, i'm more of a perfectionist than most. But i don't have the time or inclination to make something perfect currently as i've got half a dozen MTBs that need that.

So it was just a buy in winter, use if i want, if i don't, sell it and get £1500 back.

I did look earlier, but i think if i went out with the lads, even on Tiger 800s (for example) the trailie would be left struggling to maintain enough speed for many bits. Something like that CCM makes a lot of sense, but i'm still not convinced on their reliability.

I'm struggling to see past that silver Firestorm at the moment. I've only ridden one once, around North Wales/Bala area and was quite taken with it..

It's more common than you'd imagine.

I know a chap who bought a new GSXR1000 K5 in 2005 and it has around 1k miles on the odo.

Some folk tell themselves, they didn't use it much last year, but maybe they will this year, then the years move on...

I suppose it's good fortune for whoever gets their hands on them if they've been stored properly. I just couldn't leave stuff sat there, not because of the cost, just because all that time, energy and material went into making something to be used and enjoyed.

£1800 for that Blackbird looks like a gift for someone.

My Speed Triple 995 (ULEZ Registered). Needs exhaust gaskets which I have. New low miles shock on it, all bushings done and a spare set included. What more do you want! £1500 to take it away with spare plastics and some spares. And it is black, so the best colour of all.

With the criteria of being a cheap Sunday plodder or a trip to the shops bike, a 4 cylinder wouldn't worry me.
In that case you can borrow my FZ750 if you want to, all the bits to fix the leaky fork seal come with it, and it could do with a good clean.

Yup, probably the best option and the one Skub links to looks tidy for the money, dreadful exhaust can aside.
They're a bit dull though IMO- this is where my money would go in that situation

Or if you fancy trying something different, you could do worse than one of these.....

I've not followed your thread/discussion on it fully, so will go have a little looky... but feel free to ping me a PM matey.

That was one i looked at, although more than i'd really want to spend and a chunk more than the Firestorm. I'd have to find one locally to sit on and see if i could ride one though.
