Budget Bike Battles.. What's on your list.
OK, with the "£13k gets you.... " or "£10k on top of...."
What's on your more realistic budget bike list...
I'm thinking more like the £1000 FZS1000 we recently had etc..
So what does it really give over one of the Fazer 1000s for example in the outside world.
Lets see your £2000 bike
Lets see your £4000 bike
I'm my £2000 i'm taking
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225467668197 ... R6byjsfXYQ
Firetstorm with Penske shock.
In my £4000 battle bike there can only be 1 choice of course.

Re: Budget Bike Battles.. What's on your list.
I'm going to ignore every reason to buy a bike other than it's something I simply would want in the garage (that is ignoring any practical concerns) I would go for an NC29 for 2k...
and if I didn't already have an rsv 1000 factory it would be one of those but as I have it would have to be a nice zx7r as I've always wanted one. This one is up for £3300 but I'd wait for a mintier one in that colour scheme to maximise my budget...

Re: Budget Bike Battles.. What's on your list.
I have been thinking about a second, cheaper bike for summer. A supermoto style thing, R30, XTX springs to mind and is what I look at on eBay. I'd like a 2 stroke something or other, but think, all things considered, they are probably left in the past.
I could probably sort this out if it stays under £2k and is fairly local for once! But I suspect it'll make a lot more than I'd want to pay if I ever did decide to go ahead.

Bikes from my yoof at £4k would see this being bought.

Re: Budget Bike Battles.. What's on your list.
I've never had a Honda VFR 750,but this one would tempt me,in fact if I had more room in the garage I'd be tempted to buy it now!

For 4K I would be looking at either a Street Triple or MT07 for a bit of fun.

For under 2K this would be a good starter for a track bike and 300 quid to throw at plastics
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/bike-detai ... 23&fromsra
For 4K this would be a decent pick up for a classic bike from my yoof
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/bike-detai ... 23&fromsra
Or another nice ZX7R

Under £2k, nope, there's nothing on ebay with a buy it now price of between 1 - 2 k that'd I'd give garage space to.

Re: Budget Bike Battles.. What's on your list.
I did the same "less than £2k" filter an eBay and immediately spotted this.
Being the filthy pervert I am I really can't resist it. I'm not saying I'd buy it, but I'd also not saying I wouldn't buy it.

When will I be famous?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275711581108
It's a Bros, so says the frame, forks and brakes, but it says Hawk (the lower spec US version) on the tank.
I wouldn't really want to pay more than £1500 for one, but it's the only one on t'bay.
£4k, then I'll have a Gen 1 Mille R.

Re: Budget Bike Battles.. What's on your list.
I've decided to pick two that I'll probably never buy but 'sort of' want to. And might still actually, I don't know...
£2,000 - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275525381157 - I often think about getting a little scoot or runaround just for local stuff, nipping to the shops etc. and I've always sort of wanted one of these:
£4,000 - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125790218353 - again, sort of on my list but I know that it'd be utterly pointless & difficult to sell on when I inevitably got sick of it. Ideally I'd borrow one for a day.

Under 2, this and a grands worth of petrol. I loved mine in a bouncy fun way. Wanted thrashing everywhere. In fact for a grand I'm actually bloody tempted as a hack.

£2K = Kawasaki Z750, like this but lower mileage https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165964252863 ... R8KXvpbYYQ
£4K = a decent 1983 Yamaha IT 175, though I'd be a long time looking for one

Under 2k,I'd go for something like this 9R.

For under 4k,I'd take one of these old plodders, for a chilled mood.

I'd buy this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225420154481 ... 0667.m2042
And if it survived being crashed the remains could be sold for enough to buy a good pair of crutches.

Re: Budget Bike Battles.. What's on your list.
ZX9Rs are a very good shout. They were the invisible option in the late 90s sub litre class, but everyone who has owned one, loves them. They do seem ridiculously cheap at the moment.
