this palm tree is on my garden.
So went out for a ride to one of the palm plantations near Elx, seeing as there are more palm here than anywhere else in Spain.

Next (if we haven't had it before), your bike next to a much older model of the same.

Can I have a 1978 GS750, as it filled the same place in Suzuki's model range that my GSX-S did?
Not that I know any one with a GS or GSX 750, a 1000 would be easier, and the weather needs to warm up before I go anywhere in a bike.

Definately. But I would not bet on anyone with a 45 year old GS750 riding it on the salt covered roads.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Sun Mar 05, 2023 6:33 pmCan I have a 1978 GS750, as it filled the same place in Suzuki's model range that my GSX-S did?

I've got a GS750, no chance of it being ridden. If you want to ride up to Co Durham I'll wheel it out into the drive. There's snow forecast this week too

As long as the other one is an older model to the one you own, then fine.

Well.... they do have the same basic engine etc... & the green one is a ZRX11/ZX11/Z1/Gpz900R/KZ900 hybrid (but no, not claiming a win)

Excuse my ignorance, but why do people cover their number plates in pics? They're not usually speeding at the time, and the world is full of bikes, and cars, with exposed plates... . It's always puzzled me.

They even cover them here in the US... which in California would involve getting a cloned plate to be made of Folsom State Pen...

Since congestion charge and ULEZ etc there is a roaring trade in cloned plates to match the model of the car/bike.
I have had a penalty notice of a car similar to mine in London congestion area. I submitted proof it wasn’t my car as the colour was wrong and my car was here and it was dismissed

That^^^! I got a ticket through for my NC700X. I contacted them and told them it wasn't me or my bike. I had to submit loads of pictures of the bike so they could compare them and pretty much offer an alibi of where I would have been at that exact time. They were happy with the pictures so it never went any further.Bigyin wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 8:39 amSince congestion charge and ULEZ etc there is a roaring trade in cloned plates to match the model of the car/bike.

So why don't they just use the no of any of the thousands of bikes/cars of the relevant model/colour even that you see day in, day out, on the street? What difference does it make that it's in yer garage?

Because it’s easier to Google the bike you want to clone than drive around until you see one.

The way I see it anyone with a bike registered to them is at risk

I suppose it's one of those 'once bitten' things. I'm inconsistent, sometimes I'll bother to obscure the plate, then other times I can't be arsed!Bustaspoke wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 1:53 pmThe way I see it anyone with a bike registered to them is at risk
