Ken Bruce....Will you miss him?
As above. The old faithfuls - Terry, Steve Wright, and now KB - have gone, replaced by the likes of Sarah Cox, Zoe Ball, Scott Mills, with others even worse.
What am I to do? Apart from that.

Who?
Steve wright was good back when he was on Radio1. The prick Mathew Banister killed that station off.

Re: Ken Bruce....Will you miss him?
Probably not.
Because I've never listened to him, but we have Greatest Hits Radio on in the office everyday, so I probably will listen to him going forward.

Absolute radio also do a good range of 70's, 80's, 90's etc channels. 80's is all the wife listens to in the kitchen.

Re: Ken Bruce....Will you miss him?
He was entertaining with his banter & humour but I stopped listening to R2 a few years ago as the playlists seemed to change & they were playing stuff that reminded me of Eurovision.I would occasionally switch back to R2 for a few minutes, but ineveitibley they would play some god awful Eurocrap & I'd switch stations again

Mrs.Skub likes him. I tend to be not around when she's liking him.
He's less annoying than most radio jabber jockeys, but that's probably damning with faint praise.

R2 ain't not been the same since Tel left.
Scott Mills FFS and Vernon bastard Kay, jebus wept, nope R2 is not for me any longer, I used to enjoy KB's program, have lunch and then switch over to country line radio for the afternoon, guess I'll go looking for something else to fill my morning listening needs.

Re: Ken Bruce....Will you miss him?
This, Radio 2 is the dumping ground for Radio 1 DJs whose audience have grown up, the likes of Ken Bruce and especially Wright who was 30 years past his sell by date. Give it a few years and Zoe Ball and Scott Mills will be presenting on Radio Guyhirn or something and R2 will be full of the shouty black yoof that appear to inhabit R1 these days.
I'd rather listen to a specialist station with minimum DJ involvement or Spotify than listen to some overpaid Muppet talking over the music.

Re: Ken Bruce....Will you miss him?
I liked KB, although it took me a while. He didn't take himself seriously and was more than happy to let his listeners take the piss out of him. He also had a very measured voice, neither too soft or too hard, a bit like Wogan, and Simon Mayo (who I also liked).
The only person I now like on Radio 2 is Sara Cox, which surprised me as I couldn't stand her when I was younger.
I'll stick to my own music now.

Radio DJs are why I mostly listen to music via an mp3 player in the van. Even R3 has presenters that blather on and on, very annoying.

Won't miss him at all. Last time I listened to R2, or whatever it was then, was in a factory and they had Workers Playtime on.
There is a pattern though, from what I've read. DJ or programme presenter hogs a spot for far, far too long, blocking the job for anyone else, then whines like a milk float when they finally manage to crowbar them out. People complain about the new person, then 20+ years later, the same people complain when that one has to be surgically removed from the studio.

Re: Ken Bruce....Will you miss him?
Radio 2 killed itself years ago, most of the DJs and most of the music is just plain annoying. Ken Bruce was less annoying than some, but I rarely listened anyway.

Re: Ken Bruce....Will you miss him?
I can't often be bothered flicking around radio stations, as Radio 2 has some terrible public service programmes it never stays tuned in for long.
I know almost nothing about KB apart from he has a mildly irritating voice.

Re: Ken Bruce....Will you miss him?
I grew up with Radio 1 , then Radio 2 and as I understand it the BBC no longer want me as a listener . Terry Wogan and Ken Bruce both had ( IMO ) great senses of humour and were genuinely appreciated by their regular listeners . Ken Bruce is also a musician ( drummer ) and knows his stuff . Apart from his pop master , the " tracks of my years " was often an interesting feature .
I struggle with the " wokeness " of the BBC News as well nowadays . P'raps time to stop paying the licence fee ?

Re: Ken Bruce....Will you miss him?
Terry? Naah.
Steve Wright? I can remember when that chull tip was on Radio 1 and just can't stand him.
Ken Bruce? Well, to be fair I quite like him and it'll be a shame he's off.
I sometimes listen to radio 2 at work, I could listen to him, right upto the point where that cunt Jeremy comes on then I either put my own selection on via my Festool DAB+/ radio/Bluetooth thing or sometimes Radio 6 (random as feck) music.
Sarah Cox, Zoe Ball, Scott Mills? Shutup shutup shutup. NO, just don't say anything, shhhh.

Re: Ken Bruce....Will you miss him?
Radio 4 when I'm able to properly listen and usually in the van, 4 extra and world service also but not while I'm working on noisy jobs with other people.
If I'm working on my own and maybe just pottering about on my own snagging a job with a handplane,/screwdriver and a mastic gun type of thing and then I can give what they're saying a bit of attention.
