Re: What have you done today thread?
Tried to do as little as possible!! I'm bloody knackered. A weekend of long hours then going out with visiting friends and mad Monday/Tuesday in the office!! I went out last night just cos, well, day off today, so I felt I should!! Even managed a lie in this morning.
Made it to the cafe for coffee, then to physio, then visited a friend who had to have a second op to fix her wrist after the 'check up' surgeon 2 weeks after the first op moved her wrist and splint and basically rebroke it Then saw a couple more friends.
Now home to go to sleep - not sure quite how I got this knackered!!
Hey ho! Need to do some serious tidying in my place, but think I'll do it after work tomorrow!!

By asking for a phone number you've marked yourself as too old. These days it's all Snap and Insta.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Found out an old friend of mine died today. Last time I saw him, I didn't recognise him as its been years since we'd seen each other and he'd changed his look a lot, but it was great to see him again. I thought of him the other day for some strange reason and wondered how he was and why we'd lost touch again. I guess sometimes you just walk different paths in life. He was a nice bloke with a really lovely disposition. There's a lot of c***s on this planet that deserved to take his place in early departure lounge. Its often the way...
RIP Dan, I'll raise a glass to you tonight...

Re: What have you done today thread?
I'll be taking a memorial service for first years primary school teacher this morning. She died suddenly (DVT) a couple of months back and the school has been waiting for the funeral to take place (today) so they can organise an Assembly for the school service. A tough one for lots of reasons and now it falls to me to lead a school in grief and into looking for hope and comfort.
Then home to walk the dog as I have missed her these past three days being away on a conference in Harrogate (still way south of Inverness though, so lots of oxygen).
The rest of the day is yet to be determined, so I will do my best to just enjoy it.

Blootered a badger! The little bastard. Somehow managed to rip half of the wheel arch liner off, fog light mount is broke, some damage to the bumper, need to have a proper look but I’ll be able to pick up the bits off eBay and have it back to normal.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I hit a badger on the route nationale out here in a minibus a few years ago - it ripped out the wheel arch cover and the bottom engine cover thingy
Bloody badgers - why the heck he couldn't cross the road somewhere sensible, but no, waited for the only vehicle on the dual carriageway

Re: What have you done today thread?
Sworn lots!
Woke up early doors to find the power had tripped, bit of circuit isolating to find it was the boiler circuit causing the RCD to trip. Quick trip to the boiler room to find water on the floor seemingly coming form the condensate drain - quick strip, clean and refit plus a few added prayers! No luck, leak appears to be coming from the heat exchanger - fuckity fuck fuck! New boiler time at approx £3.5k!
Add that to the fact that our BTL house boiler also went last month and cost £2.5k, sons car spectacularly failed it's MOT yesterday, some cnut opening their car door in to our car hard enough to dent it yesterday its fair to say I'm pissed off

Re: What have you done today thread?
Up early (before 7am is early in my books), dog out for a walk. Back home, coffee and breakfast for the wife at 9am, she is staying in bed as very unwell with the lurgy, bordering on ManFlu symptoms at this rate)... Work on sermon for tomorrow's evening service, then walked dog again for another hour or so. Back home to do lunch. Back to the church to do the cleaning and then home for a coffee and to let dog into garden for a wee.
Pizza and beer tonight I think, garlic bread as well and ice-cream for dessert. Should tick the right boxes.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I hit a badger with my fist last summer.
T'was when we were camping. First night heard a lot of snuffling around the tent, was half asleep at the time so thought I imagined it.
Second night came back. The tent had little zipped mesh windows all around the bottom.....yep there's a badger having a good old nose about
Obviously sniffed itself some food, so it started to have a dig/push around the edge of the tent. Hard enough it's making a proper "dent" in the fabric. I know they've got big ol' teeth* and baby D is here with us, so I just gave it a smack/punch through the tent. Made the weirdest "surprised badger" cough/bark and fucked off never to be heard from again.
Shoulda used a shovel

If you'd like to come and have a go at the one that's been digging up everything in my garden (bloody thing must have a JCB), be my guest.
