You’re not allowed to kill cyclists even when it’s not a cycle path or a shared cycleway.

She said she "may have unintentionally put" out her hand to protect herself. Ms Grey believed she had made light contact with Mrs Ward.

Maybe, if they’re a Scotchman harbouring a grudge.

Not according to the video footage in the article
Yes, but perhaps the jury saw more footage than that.
Probably, but by the time the cyclist has diverted hard right into the road there was no contact, and by then what's done was done.

Edit, there's a different video up now from when I posted the article, yes, there is potential for her to have pushed / contacted the cyclist.

A defensive reaction that I suspect most of us would have when something like a bike came flying towards us, the woman has cerebral palsy so it's not like she's gonna dance out the way. It'd be different if she swung a haymaker at the cyclist. I assume that if any hard contact was made she would be injured herself. I still think it's total waster of money keeping her in jail when you see some of the vermin that walk free from the courts in a daily basis

I wasn't aware there was any other type of Scotchman.

I’m sure the court heard both sides.

I’m considering giving up pushing elderly cyclists into the traffic. They’ve started jailing people for it!

I've been hit by a kid on a BMX doing about 10, it was fast enough.

I wouldn't :) I've seen one - the body anyway, the cab & chassis was stopped further on - parked against a bridge, and I've seen an artic with the trailer rear doors swinging open.
