He was a huge part of my growing up. I used to love it when he introduced Barry Sheene races.

Looks like a photo of his face has been stuck onto someone else's body.

Fond memories of an easier time. Literally a lifetime ago now...

I always remember an old Morcambe and Wise sketch:

Eric - 'You're going grey'

Ernie - ' I worry'

Eric - 'Be like Dickie Davies and just worry a little bit'

:( I'll have to dig out my Weather Report albums. Heavy Weather is a particular favourite.

That's the big three all gone. Zawinul, Pastorius and now Shorter. :(

Quick? Not exactly. He'd been in hospital for 3 months apparently. :(

Well yeah, I'm sure there's a sweet spot of knowing, putting your things in order, minimal pain. I guess he had two out of three. And the third less than a lot of people.

Oh man.

One of the most enjoyable concerts I've been to was Lindley and Cooder at the Ulster Hall, with Ry's son Joachim on drums.

Lindley is one of the greats. Rest easy guitar man.

A mate of mine saw them together in concert. I've been envious ever since. And Mercury Blues is probably my all time favourite DL track. RIP.

We went to see ry cooder and david Lindley play at the Apollo Manchester, it was clear after five minutes they hadn't actually practiced anything and were just busking it, by half time most of the audience had left for the pub near the car park( they kept turning the volume up to compensate) no drums or band. The most dissapointing gig ever He did however redeem himself on recordings RIP
