I reckon the rug has been yanked out from under Boris and Jacobs hard Brexit a bit today.
I'll be interested to see how it comes on.

Whilst I'm not particularly a fan of Sunak I think I'm liking some of this.

I suspect that both of them can feel the ground under their feet turning to quicksand...

Not only have the teenage boys been suspended from school, one of them has received death threats, their actions have been logged as a ‘hate incident’ by police, but to add insult to injury, the a police are turning a blind eye to the death threats.
There are a number of issues to be addressed here....

1. When were blasphemy laws reinstated in this country? By treating this as a hate incident, the police are clearly acting as if blasphemy laws existed in this country.

2. Why, when it is acknowledged that there was no intent, are the Police treating this as a hate incident?

3. When did it become ok for the Police to practice religious discrimination? By ignoring the death threats made by Muslims they are clearly acting in a discriminatory manner.

4. Is it the case that Sharia law is being enforced in this country by the Police, it certainly seems so?

Perhaps it might be worthwhile checking a few facts. I know nothing about this incident, but a local school 'riot' incident that made the Daily Mail is currently the subject of a solicitors letter to the journalist concerned since most of the 'facts' quoted are untrue.

Don't worry, the DUP will refuse to go back to work and the media will jump on that and Boris and the Haunted Pencil will get a reprieve.

I work in logistics and still haven't got a fucking clue what this deal means, we get a trailer load of electricals from Dublin every night and most of it goes to NI, some goes back to the ROI with bugger all paperwork.

Read that, but it's a fucking joke, yes yer woman was a bit of a cnut for shouting at the old doll but at the end of the day if she's infirm enough not to ride on the road then she maybe should have packed it in.

The irony is that there's been loads of cases of people in cars hitting folk in bikes and killing them and not being jailed, your woman didn't touch her.

There are probably people who genuinely need locking up but aren't, now this (admittedly mental looking) woman who's probably no physical danger to anyone is taking up space and costing money.

I'm guessing there's some minimum sentencing stuff going on here? Presumably manslaughter* is a mandatory chokey period? 5 million hours and community service and taking all her carrier bags would have been just as appropriate.

It feels like the woman is partially a scapegoat so no difficult questions get asked about cycle paths.

The trial was told that police could not "categorically" state whether the pavement was a shared cycleway.
