It may be a contrived notion, but all-black-everything, is a styling technique that can transform the fortunes of any design. As Clockwork Motorcycles perfectly portray through their custom Twenty2 Honda CB750; proof that black-on-black will always be beautiful.
Through adopting a stripped-back aesthetic and minimal colour palette, the custom Twenty2 Honda represents both brawn and beauty. Refined with subtle touches and textures, the bike has been expertly restored to become one of the most polished motors on the road today.
Clockwork Motorcycles saved the Honda from a multitude of previous bodged jobs to be a road-worthy runner once again. Upon the request of the client that the bike ‘has to be all-black’, Samuel Guertin of Clockwork Motorcycles began the restoration from his workshop just outside of Montreal, Canada. Samuel began the restoration with a complete rebuild of the engine before installing SuperFlow valves, Beehive racing springs, heavy duty studs and a performance camshaft.
Elsewhere, Samuel completely rewired the entire bike around a Motogadget m-Unit control box, and in turn installed a new electronic ignition with high output coils. Adding a rugged edge to the bike, a set of Keihin CR29 carbs and K&N filters were installed, before attention turned to the 750’s lines and proportions.
Samuel completely trimmed the rear frame of the bike, adding a new loop and trimming in the process. While front forks from a Suzuki GSX-R1000 were installed to add a touch of sophistication. Complete with a full complement of Motogadget componentry, the cockpit remains as minimal as it can potentially be. Refined with M-switch push buttons, an m-Lock keyless ignition and a diminutive mini gauge to enhance the stealth-inspired aesthetic of the bike.
